ARC Raiders sales top 14 million

Indeed anyone would consider confirmed 10 million sales sequel to a confirmed 30 million sale original a huge success...

Probably just a little less than sony was hoping by a 10 million or two.

But the point about Battlfield not being at 15+ million stands, likely less than ARC raiders.

But the first game hadn't sold 30 million, when TLOU2 released. It was around 18 or so million sold when the 2nd game released. Plus that 10 million number for TLOU2 is super old.

Nice game but I dropped it after 35 hours. Happy for the team though, one of the best studios out there.

And yet in the same leak that got us 10 million we got the 30 million. That the last of us 2 had hit 10 million in June 2022 while the first hit 30 million 6 months later in Jan 2023.

When sales meet or exceed expectations creators tend to display that. Bit like how Battlefield 6 did, and ARC raiders is now.

People only stop when they dont want people to know, bit like how Battlefield 6 havent announced anything for a few months now, my bet is someone internally the ARC Raider team still knows working at EA told em BF6's not reached 12 million yet, hence this announcement.

That 10 million was actually around February of 2022 actually. Yes, about 4 years ago! And it's sold millions since. Weirdly, Sony doesn't always give us numbers for every game. And many times the game actually selling well and they still don't tell us.

TLOU2 was estimated to be at or around 15 million in early 2025. That's 15 million in 5 or so years. The first game sold 18 million in 7 years. That's not that different of a sales rate.

I don't engage with any of the games missions or trials and the like.
I'm doing all the quests for the second time (reset), but I won't be doing them again. I also ignore most of the trials.

The fun for me is just going into matches and doing PvP (trios and duos) or helping fight the queen and matriarch (if solo).

Sometimes our group does challenge runs like entering with no guns and only a shield, going hairpins only, etc.

Absolutely crazy

A studio like this putting out this high quality on a relatively small budget is no small feat. With all that money they will be able to make something truly amazing.

You know what actually let me join in, yeah the Last of Us 2 sold an extra 5 million since the data was released, but you know what based on my feelings the Part 1 sold an additional 10 million since then. Its now at 40 million versus 15, truly impressive. I can confirm this using the same data you used for that.

We know the TV show pushed both further, so this is the only logical outcome since their not releasing numbers right?

I wonder when ARC raiders will eclipse that sales figure. Maybe in 6 months, but no doubt Part 2 will be 20 million by then we cant say its not, Im sure glad Sony mysteriously only release sales data for games doing far beyond their expectations. I mean we know 10 million+ is huge for any game, but compared to a prior entry that sales far eclipse that in a market that is several times larger than it used to be? I cant think of many examples that didn't.

It would be a bit like Half-Life 2 not out selling Half-Life. Weird you know? That a critically acclaimed sequal fails to surpass the original despite their being more people with access to a PC or Console able to play it.

I like it. At the higher trials ranks though it really prioritizes not playing until the weekend. That's something they should fix.

Yep. I'm daredevil 2 I think and haven't played this week yet which sucks because they should be encouraging you to play, not wait until later in the week to avoid the sweats. They need to do something with leaderboards either taking into account solos vs duos vs trios or place people in leaderboards based on their previous week's score or an average of their previous weeks for the season. That way sweats in trios that somehow get 350k+ points for the week don't get put against solos or even duos and trios that only get 100k for the week. It's a very flawed system that I hoped they would have fixed for "season" 2 but alas it's exactly the same.

Exactly. Two weeks ago I was Tryhard 3, didn't place until Wednesday. Got around 211k points in the leaderboard. (Was actually in TheBurntPeanut's leaderboard)

With 211k I was in 3x promotion. Until Friday, where I dropped to 2x promotion. Then Sunday when I dropped to 1x promotion. And 211k is a shitton for the trials that week. Only really surpassed by lobbies working together (teams giving snowballs to another team).

So I barely got 1x promotion 2 weeks ago because I played in the middle of the week. This past week I played Thursday night. Was in 3x promotion until the last 12 hours, when I dropped 11 spots.

But my friend who played earlier in the week got put into a leaderboard where the all promotion brackets had a score of like 300k+. Literally impossible to achieve without boosting.

The competition aspect of it is good and all, but it really keeps people from playing until Saturday/Sunday. I really don't know how to fix it other than just making the rank up a score you have to reach each week.

The game is amazing although it gets repetitive. I got kinda tired of it after 40-50 hours. But i will come back at some point when they release new maps

I take intermittent breaks and will put the game down for a fortnight or so, play Battlefield instead, and then return. Still not exhausted the content with this approach, still feel like I'm not fully acquainted with the current maps as a result.

From the guys that made Hell Let Loose

The only immediate downside is that it's the Hell Let Loose devs, so it'll never have controller aim assist to help with the big disadvantage vs mnk. It was the same issue with Hunt: Showdown. Unfortunately I will never buy as a result.

Marathon and Arc Raiders do comprehensive input support right.

They've recently made big improvements with Hunt on console/controller btw. Different devs of course but just saying.

Nice. Better for extraction games to have a price and not be F2P like so many ask for.
Helldivers and Ark Raiders made bucks just from sales, let alone DLC

Arc players have twisted the meaning of rat so far beyond what it was lol. It's now anyone that kills someone. Trying to claim someone is being disrespectful for shooting you in game with pvp lol.

A rat is essentially an exit camper who waits for people to try and extract and then kills you right there.

Essentially this, rather than roaming gangs, thats just regular pub stomping. In regular PvP its a "camper" but in extraction its this specifically. Although it could be used if they camp a specific area known for high loot or a mission goal. Essentially rather than ever engaging with the game they sit somewhere and wait for others to do the job, kill them when their loaded up and leave with all their stuff.

Just general ratting about basically.

Or in Arc Raiders if you don't have a guitar or flute equipped.

People need to ask if you're friendly before they shoot you?
No they dont need to ask thats part of the game but does piss you off if you are a friendly player and would rather team up with people to take on the big arcs, then some one just shoots you with out giving you a chance to say friendly.

Could you plz elaborate on that since i'm interested in Hunt :)
Hunt is another extraction game though more PvP focus and less looting. IMO Hunt is the best around right now, brilliant if you can convince some friends to try it out with you (its on game pass) if you are new to it I would recommend going doing the tutorial then when you play for real try and matchmake for a couple of team mates. so your playing as a trio. Vast majority of players in EU at least are decently friendly towards new players and I can probably count on 1 hand the amount or out right douche bags that I have been matched with over the years. Fun game I seems to have got into a routine playing on the xbox with 2 mates every friday and love it, then other nights I play on PC with randoms.

To be fair why would you ever not? Their is no greater joy than sneaking up on some unsuspecting foe and then pulling out a surprise flute solo on his ass.

No man, you missed the point. You wanna come in and take our stuff with a free loadout, you're just asking for it.

I'd put Tears of the Kingdom in that category. It's technically a better game than BOTW too. Just like gameplay wise TLOU2 is a better game than TLOU. And TOTK was released on systems that had more hardware sold than the first game. Plus it scored VERY well. Still was outsold by Breath of the Wild. Sometimes the sequel (while good or great), doesn't out sell the thing that started it all.

Im not, I hated both, but I lasted longer in Breath of the Wild by far. Iv recently seen more videos naturally popping up saying the first game was better, largely from "this new" versus "more of the same"

This is the same as the TloU 2 right? On a mechanical level its a better game, but video games are not just mechanics, art direction, writing, story all make a part of the experience. Games do sell on word of mouth and stop too.

They also did something similair, they had incredibly strong starting sales, exceeding the original, then stopped. Something made people who bought the original not want to pick up the sequel. Despite the press releases all gushing over it.

My bet is on it was viewed as exspensive DLC, thank god that message got out. Ubisoft of the Wild and DLC of the Kingdom are one of the most unfortunate things to happen to Zelda.

I'm laughing at the "Ubisoft of the Wild and DLC of the Kingdom" names. WOW! But hold on.....you hated both of those Zelda games?

I had to push hard to even get far in breath of the wild, I think it was the 3rd animal dungeon thing that I finally figured out that this was it, this was the most engaging the game would be.

The second I tried based on as you said "its just the first game but better" I had heard up until launch. But i was not prepared to be in for the exact same shit "but in the sky" and eventually back to the same map i played in the first game, but with a new town in the centre.

Even the Banjo kazooie nuts and bolts system that they copy and pasted from Xbox couldn't save it.

When I got my Switch 2 I got the paid expansion to see if it was just me being some 30 FPS elitist, nope still shit. So im one of those very important sales numbers they keep touting for everything. Fuck those games.

I appreciate your honesty.

I was in at the beginning, but got bored after about a month. I understand the game is what it is, but I would have much more preferred a PvE looter-shooter, with voluntary PvP zones, similar to The Division.

The game has such a cool backstory and world concept, and I feel it's utterly wasted by how they decided to shape the game itself.

It's good, maybe even great, but I feel that it could have been so much more.

Unless sales dropped off a cliff after a few weeks due to word of mouth, its certainly dropped off in terms of players in both PC and console.

In the same way the last of us 2 touted in amazing early sales and the went radio silent for 2 years before declaring it just hit the 10 mill milestone. Which was poor considering its original rate on release.

BF6 was bigger of course but I was seeing it broke 10 mill end of Nov, I dont think its got anouther 5-6 million since then, it sold 7 million in its first 3 days and took 2 months to get anouther 3, so 5+ million in anouther 2 months is unlikely.

The Last Of Us 2 moving 10 million is around the same ballpark The Last Of Us 1 did, so to be clear, The Last Of Us 1 did not move 20 million units in 1 year or anything odd like this lol

Sales drop off of all major titles, that is the reality of gaming ,that is not exclusive to BF6.

BF6 based on EA, outsold BF1, as in life time sales

https://www.gamespot.com/articles/b...n-any-game-since-2022-in-the-us/1100-6536380/

For that figure to make sense, it means BF6 is around 15 or 16 million or so based on BF1's life time sales, to surpass it means they sold more.

The god awful quests don't help.

It's at 14 million units sold now. I'll update the OP.

Arc Raiders continues to be an enormous hit for publisher Nexon, with 14 million copies sold and almost a million concurrent players online at one point last month.

In Nexon's latest financial results, the Korean publisher boasted that its sticky extraction shooter had "significantly exceeded expectations" and had "approximately six million weekly active users." January's player peak saw roughly 960,000 people online at the same time — an impressive figure indeed, especially three months after its late October 2025 arrival.

This PVP experiment of a game is so infested with rats camping extraction points, sometimes I wonder if we are actually living in Hell. Fk this fking game 100%!

Yet the CCU is nowhere near the highs. This game is great but it has a retention problem hidden under those numbers. As soon as sales fall off the CCU will tank unless they do something for the longer term players.

Hats off to Embark though it's a wild ride while it lasts. Hopefully they can figure it out.
