Arcana Heart 3 Coming to US!

Talk about pointless. The Japanese release was already region free.

Now if it were a 360 release, that would actually mean something since the game is region locked.

Yeah, but 90% of the damn game is written in Japanese. Have no clue as to what I'm selecting :P

Yay! As one of the only people I know who own Battle Fantasia on PSN (Thanks, Aksys!) I will be supporting this PSN release of Arcana Heart 3. Sweeeet!

Yeah, really fucking disappointing. Been looking forward to finally playing this series but guess it won't be happening.

Not everyone wants to spend the $90 or so to import.

Very nice to see this getting a US release. No retail version means I won't spend more than $30 for a digital release though!

Basically, yeah.

There are loads of Japan-only games that I'd like to give a shot, but not for $70-100. Hell there are loads of domestic games that I'd like to try, but not at $50-60 which I then pick up on the $20-30 price drop. So yeah, I'm thankful when they bring over games I wasn't willing to drop $80 but I want to play.

Excited to see!

Picked up the import on a bit of a whim, and am completely loving it. I really don't see mvc3 distracting me from this game for very long, and I'll be glad to see a burst of new players when this releases.

I always wanted to play this franchise. I am looking forward to it. The more fighters the better. I am guessing it will cost about $39 to $49 though.

Lot of ungratefulness ITT. It's coming out here. Support Aksys, not the EU publishers. Be happy it's getting a US release at all.

And think of the potential for other quirky JP games that wouldn't get a disc release.

Umineko, Higurashi, effing WIZARDRY.

Only PS3? I don't understand.

Just like why deadly premonition isn't on PSN either. IT JUST DOES NOT COMPUTE!

But meh, don't care anymore. Not sure if I'll bite with AC3 on PSN tho, especially when I have the JPN PS3 version incoming from Japan.

I'd rather get the Japanese release then.

If Aksys would support the 360 version then I would get it, Otherwise I will get the European version if it is region free. Not going to buy a PS3 for this one game, and it not even a retail version. I prefer retail copy, when I can get it over Download Digital.

Was there really that many support for AH3? Could it be that Aksys decided not to go the retail way because the game is too niche?
It's supposed to be pretty popular in arcades, and the home version charted on Media Create the week it was released.

Stateside it's a different story though. A few forumgoers here and there.

No release date yet? I like how they announce this on a valentine's day. Forever-alone GAF.

So sad there won't be a physical copy, this is one of the few game that I would prefer a awesome collection editions with big boxes and lots of trash.

PLEASE AKSYS. I'd buy them!

Higurashi does have an official English release on the PC from MangaGamer, as mediocre as the translation may be. There's the PS2 and DS versions, of course, but digital distribution isn't an option there. So, even though I'd like to see Aksys handle a translation for it, it won't happen. But Umineko and Wizardry - now those are things I'd be much more excited about than Arcana Heart and Agarest Senki Zero. The PS3 Umineko is from Alchemist, who's never had any of their games localized before, so I don't know how difficult it would be to get publishing rights from them. But if Aksys can manage that, they could probably license Witch-Hunt's fan translation to use as a base, similar to what XSEED did for Oath in Felghana, making the task of translation substantially easier. The two PSN Wizardry titles are from Acquire, which has recently had one of their games published by Aksys - Gladiator Begins for PSP. So Aksys already has a working relationship there. And really, would these titles be less successful than Gladiator Begins or Blazing Souls Accelate? I doubt it.

So in short: Do it.
And Danganronpa while you're at it!

well, I have my japan copy for PS3, and I'm saddened that there is no disc release, but I love Arcana Heart and will support whatever releases the game gets in the US

XBLA has a size restriction.

The game is about 600 MB when installed, is it too much for XBLA? I thought Hydrophobia was bigger than that.

edit: maybe the real problem is XBLA prices. What's the maximum price you can set for a game? 1600 MP?

Yep, but there's no price or size restriction on games on demand. I guess they couldn't release it that way though.

No, no, no.

The only apology I will accept for lack of 360 AH3 in US is localized Muchi Muchi Pork. :4
That won't happen. Cave made the release region free because not publishers showed interest in picking it up.

Hm... cool to see it come over, but not being a fan of DL services in general and not having much time to really get into fighting games nowadays, I'm not sure I'll be picking it up...

Shadow Red said:
Could the problem just be Microsoft? With the whole Games on Demand thing?

Tons of red tape on Microsoft's end.

XBLA is a possibility as the size-limit is something like two gigs or so. Unfortunately getting a game on XBLA isn't something that can be done in a reasonable amount of time(I've heard horror stories of a year-long waiting list and endless potential for delays). Furthermore it would be more work on Aksys's end porting the game to fit XBLA standards.

Games on Demand requires a retail release first and if Aksys isn't planning one(certainly not for the PS3) that guarantees 360 owners are out of luck.

Sucks for me because all of my arcade sticks are for the 360.

Hey guys, I just wanted to let you know that we have been paying attention to what you've been saying. We should have an official announcement about all this sometime soon.

Good news! I want to use my arcade sticks for this.

Good to hear.

Well, its being published on both 360 and PS3 in europe by Zen United. Wonder what the deal is with Aksys.

do you work for Aksys? IF you do...maybe you can get someone high up to release the 360 version.

I'm pretty sure this would outsell the 360 version by at least triple in the states. Look at BlazBlue. I'm sure they decided it wouldn't be worth it.
