Are any of Dead Space 3's DLC worth getting?

I plan on getting the Dead Space series this Summer Sale and despite DS3's criticisms I plan on giving it a chance, it might be a fun shooter at least. DS3's notorious for its DLC and IAP-like content. So which of the DLC are worth playing through or getting?
 
DS3 ends on a cliff hanger and the Awakened DLC ties up the ending. If the dlc is really cheap and you are certain you will push through DS3 then that dlc is worth it. There is no point to the weapon or resource dlc. If you make sure to explore and drop the resource bot, you will have more than enough resources to make weapons. To me Dead Space is analogous to the Alien series. The first one is slow, creepy, and really deliberate. The second one is faster, bigger, and flows really well. The third one doesn't know what it is and has a hard time figuring it out. If you marathon this series, i would suggest you try to wrangle a friend into playing coop in DS3, so that at least there is a bit of something new.
 
Best part of the game, besides the first third.

It makes the game scary again with the new enemy, and the sanity effects are back in a big way.
The new enemy is basically regular humans who have modified their bodies to resemble necromorphs.
 
Based on what I saw, Awakened DLC was more in line with stuff from DS2 than 3 in terms of tone. I ended up just watching it on YT after I beat 3 and I felt that was good enough. DS4 or a flat out reboot of the series would be great. DS3 was okay, even if it slanted real hard to the action side of things while pulling back on the cool weapon upgrade systems of the first two.

It's also the longest game of the series by a country mile. I clocked in somewhere near 25 hours and I even skipped over all the co-op missions.
 
Oh man. I think you reminded that I haven't played this yet. I need to go back and be sure I've finished all the DLC.
 
Awakened dlc, got it. Amazon sells a Dead Space 3 bundle that has it, will keep an eye on it in case Amazon decides to put it on sale.
 
I need to buy this at some point, i know that it's not the best sequel to the first two games but i really miss DS :(

It's not worth it. Just play the first two games instead. Hell, play Extraction. Play that shitty hacking comic thing. Anything but 3.
 
Awakened is worth it, especially since you can get it for cheap on a sale. The other DLC packs are weapons and costumes, which while they are awesome and give you more variety, ultimately you're just paying for weapon blueprints that are already in the game and they make the game pretty easy since I feel they are slightly overpowered.
 
Got time to kill on the bus? Play the Dead Space mobile game. Got time to do something besides play Dead Space 3? Play the Dead Space mobile game.
 
I'd go as far to say Awakened is a necessity. It's like they sliced off the last hour or two of the full game to sell it as DLC.
