Are Grape Nuts The Best Cereal Ever?

Serious question, but personally, they may be the best due to their whole grain taste, which is fantastic and always has a sense of sugar, natural sugar that is. But the nutrition is what gives it the edge for me. Tons of Iron, lots of Fiber, copper, and more. Calories are plentiful, too, something I skimp out on when it comes to breakfast sometime. There is a reason why people who ascended Mount Everest packed it with them.

For healthy, good cereal, Grape Nuts for you? Or something else?

There isn't much food I can't stand to try out and eat, but this one take the cake for morning cereals. Never been a fan of grape nuts.

For health?

golean crunch is best.

just be careful, I once ate an entire box in a day, didn't shit for 4 and almost died when I did. rip workplace toilet.

I too, like cereals which have a more subtle flavor and/or sweetness, to them. Maybe not grapenuts, so much. But that's mostly because they can be a little hard.

But, if you are talking nutrition, you are better off eating oats/oatmeal, than just about any big brand breakfast cereal.

Don't understand how people can eat cereal as a "meal." It's just like junk food in a bowl, even the so called healthy stuff.
Sure, I love cereal, but it's a snack, not my main breakfast.

I don't know if they still make it, but Banana Nut Crunch was my top ever. As a kid, I would've told you Pac-Man cereal.

Putting "PROTEIN" on a box is the marketing equivalent of going to a playground and going around telling all the mothers watching their kids that you're not a paedophile.

I think I know why you used the past tense there.

I would imagine if you had a box of this from 1989 or whatever and ate it today, you wouldn't even need the Dr. Pepper in order to do a number on yourself. I remember the non-marshmallow part of that cereal being glossy and even as a kid, feeling like it wasn't safe to eat a lot of.

General Mills Monster Cereals all day every day! (Count Chocula, Frankenberry, Booberry, Yummy Mummy, Fruit Brute)

Sadly, they're not available outside of the fall. Thank god that cereal lasts forever. I'll occasionally order it off of Amazon for a pretty cheap price. I'm about to order a 4-pack of Chocula for like $12.

My daily driver is plain ol' Corn Flakes. I eat them pretty much every day, but I'm not above eating cereal multiple meals of the day either.

Elaborate, please.

It's the definition of unbalanced. You're eating sugar/carbs with milk, which contains more sugar and a tiny amount of protein and fat. I personally find it doesn't fill me up, I can easily eat a box of cereal in one go. I need something more substantial for breakfast - I probably won't be eating for another 6 hours so it needs to fill me up.

As I said, as a snack it's fine, but alone I don't think it covers enough to classify as a meal. I could see cereal for breakfast alongside some meat and veg, or eggs and mushroom or something, but I'd rather just have some solid bread.

I don't want to be a downer so I'll post my favourite cereal.

Halloween Cereal makes your poop green, though. That's yucky.

I enjoy Grape Nuts very much. It makes me laugh every time I buy the store brand version, Nutty Nuggets. The name is very comical to me.

See, one of the reasons I love Cornflakes is that I can eat two whole cups, with a cup of unsweetened cashew milk, for 225 calories and while it is high in sodium, it's great for vitamins. Bran Flakes as well, but they're higher in sugar and calories.

I've never personally found this to be the case but there IS precedent...http://www.smithsonianmag.com/arts-...ally-found-to-cause-pink-poop-7114570/?no-ist
