This is 50/50 for me. I'm 5'6.
I have been in a scenario where a 5'3 girl told me "I would fuck you if you were taller"
On the other hand, I have had crazy fetish sex with a 6' girl.
Point it, everyone is different. If a person chooses you based on looks - cliche to say but true - then they are not for you. Better off without them.

I'm 178 cm which converts to 5'10"(I will never understand the imperial system). I'm somewhat below average, which is fine, but I do kinda get intimidated by taller women. I am attracted to women who taller then me(hot=hot not matter the height), but I can't get myself to go for one. :O Though I don't really mind since most girls are smaller then me anyhow.

Never had a problem with the ladies when I was a bachelor. I never dated a girl taller than me though. But dating was easy in college. Plenty of ladies there.

As a man of below average height (5'7"), I find marrying a short woman (4'10") is quite a nice fit. You can put your arm around her and still feel like a titan.

I'm 6'2", which is 5" taller than either of my parents, 7" for my mom. I feel like the height definitely makes a difference. I get hit on, or complimented regularly, and I wouldn't say I'm particularly attractive otherwise.
I think most women have a slight preference for taller men (over six feet), but as long as you're taller than them they're not going to care usually. The only time a short guy won't stand a chance is with a really tall woman. Plenty of sex icon male celebs are shorter than you'd think.
I do think, however, that tall guys have a slightly easier time drawing attention and seeming confident.

These studies are always a bit weird to me. I read another study that showed some men evolved to attract females through brute strength and others through looks and intelligence. The ones that evolved to attract mates with their looks and/or intelligence were shown to be shorter and smaller in size.
So if this other study is to be believed, taller people are generally dumber and uglier.

I like being shorter than my partner. Something about being able snuggle right underneath their neck makes me feel warn and safe =)

The Web M.D. article presents a pretty unsophisticated evolutionary analysis. That this preference will lead to evolutionary selection is entirely obvious. That this preference is caused by evolutionary selection rather than being a mere epiphenomena of sexual selection is not at all clear. It's perfectly possible for cultural or idiosyncratic beliefs to alter beliefs about what is attractive and what is not, which in turn will have an effect on what genes get passed on.

I would like to thank you on behalf of all short people. One of my biggest pet peeves is tall people who stand right in front of me as if they don't realize I'm there, and one of the most appreciated gestures for me is when a taller person shows some awareness that I can't see through them.
