Are there still people here who know all the Pokemon?

Even with the new games which I wasn't nearly as invested in, I still probably could. If you keep up with the games it just comes naturally while playing. From an outsiders perspective I imagine it's getting pretty ridiculous by now though.

Sure. I mean, reciting them all from memory alone would lead to a whole lot of misses (like, I missed a few in that one test), but I could easily connect their pictures, names and types. As has been said, it comes naturally if you just invest yourself in the games, andwe do have Pokémon OTs to show that Gaffers do play.

To me, it doesn’t get crazy until you know by heart things like at what level Pokémon learn their moves, or their base stats.

I forget some from time to time, mostly Gen 5, but for the most part they are all there in my head. Give me a name I can connect the dots, same with pictures and typing is pretty easy.

I can identify every single Pokémon for sure, but that only makes sense since I'm an active Pokémon player. As in, all I need is a picture and I'll give you the name.

I took that Pokémon quiz in the other thread and got all 151 but just barely in time. Naming them all from memory is hard even if you're still a Pokémon enthusiast.

If you showed me pictures of them I could probably still name like 95% of them, but if you asked me to list them all I'd get maybe 200 or 250 deep and run out of names I can remember without a cue.

I could name a decent amount. But most of my Pokémon knowledge is from Gen 2 and Gen 3 days.

'Learning with Pokémon: Typing Adventure' is teaching me some the more recent additions into the Pokémon Universe, lol.

With pictures, I can name them all, yes. Not from memory.

It's not that hard to remember them all when you've been following the series closely from the beginning...

This is inspired by that other thread about the Pokemon quiz, but when I say "know all the Pokemon", I'm not even talking about quiz conditions. I just want to know if there are people who could still name all the Pokemon if, say, they were provided with pictures of all of them.

Apparently there are now over 700 Pokemon:

Personally, I can't name anything past Red/Blue and really know nothing about the later games, so I'm leaving this question to you. Is knowing all the Pokemon still common among Pokemon players?

You rang? :)

Without pictures.
In order.
Noting Mega Evolutions and alternate forms when they exist.

Boom :p

I can name all of them with pictures without issue, remember the cry for everything below gen 4 and have a good idea of the relevant base stats for anything competitively viable.

unfair since it's kinda your job :)

Perhaps, but there are many who run websites etc. who don't have the memory.

My friends often have a party trick where they throw a number at me, I give them the Pokémon and they check my site and see that I am right.

My memory is weird. It's not quite eidetic, but it's weird.

cool.
i can almost do that too and in 2 languages. but i kinda learned it on purpose doing quizzes a couple of times and noting the ones i missed.

If you showed me one of them than I would recognize it and I would probably be able to name it, but if you sat me down and asked me to recite every single Pokemon from heart then I would fail miserably.

I only remember Pokemon up to the 3rd gen. After it becomes a blur. I forget some Pokemon even exist like these.

Easily could name all of them from pictures. Probably could name most of them from memory. You play the games, you get to know all the Pokemon pretty well.

No way I could remember numerical order though; I can't even remember numerical order perfectly for the original 151.
I remember Finneon and Lumineon solely because they are the ones I used to forget about the most >_>
LOL not surprising. They're up there with Corsola for most forgettable Pokemon.

With pictures, I would be able to name over 90% of them easily, with the exception of Gen V since I skipped it.

I remember Burmy because of how stupid it looks, Finneon because it's pretty and Virizion because... how can you not love that one? It's one of the best "special mons" in the whole series :P The other musketeer ones I remember by thinking of Virizion... and Cobalion's three legs and odd neck fluff. xD
(Yeah I know it has four legs but the pic is really bad :P)

If I'm shown a picture most likely yes. From memory hell no, I couldn't even do gen 1 from memory, though I got close.

Aide from specific Dex numbers I know them all forwards and backwards. Like its been said in this tread not too difficult when your knee deep in the trenches of the franchise your whole life hehe.

Corocoro drop when?

I know the Pokémon by names and by pictures, barring the gen 6 Pokémon due to the fact that they rarely appear in the game thus I don't get to process that information.

dude burmy is
the
shit

but seriously why is gamefreak afraid to make good bug-types

Ice type have it harder as Game Freak gave them the cold shoulder for years and even created a new type that can defeat Dragon type.

Then again Dark type are still without a gym... ¬_¬;

With pictures , I could definitely get close. But parts of Gen V and VI would be difficult simply because it's been a good few years since I dove that deep into a Pokémon game.
