Are you a pizza snob?

Have any of you ever tried making pita bread pizza? You should. I shamelessly stole this picture from Google:

I made my own several months ago. Was so amazing, light, and delicious. Plus the small size of pita breads allows for portable lunch.

I only ever make my own and I'm not amazing at it, so no.
Gonna go make one right now in fact.

I don't even make them circular

Nope. I enjoy highly quality pizza joints and places like Little Ceasers' which apparently a lot of people look down on to $1.00 frozen pizzas.

Note: There is no such thing as high quality pizza in Ohio. Let me tell you as an Ohioan.

I'm a total Western food snob, particularly pizza, Mexican food, and burgers, as I grew up in Texas and lived in New York for a few years. Now I live in Asia and 99% of the Western food fucking sucks. Don't cry for me, I'm already dead.

No I'll eat all sorts of pizzas, supermarket frozen pizzas, Dominos pizzas, Pizza Hut, kebab shop pizzas or Italian restaurant pizzas.
Whatever takes my fancy.

I actually think supermarket frozen pizza like Tombstone is far superior to anything like Dominos. Not sure how common of an opinion that is.

I firmly believe that the downfall of Western civilization begins with artisan pizzas and gourmet burgers. So, no, I'm not. Pizza and burgers are meant to be cheap and delicious. Talent-less hipster chefs who dress up common foods and the people who patronize them and their insane prices, are the locusts that hearken the end of the world.

Nothing wrong with being a snob about food.

Keep on doing your thang, OP.

I hold the line on supermarket sushi. Nope. nope. nope.

How do y'all say that Dominos is the lowest of the low, when Little Ceasars exist?

Only reason I rank Dominos at the bottom is that after them changing their recipe a few years ago their food has given me the absolute worst and consistent heartburn. No where else is like that.

Not really a pizza snob, but I would never order pizza from Dominos, pizza hut, papa johns, or any of those places because it's just worse than what you an get anywhere else.

Also I'm not limited to the NY style pizza BS either. I think NY style pizza is great, and a good slice of pizza from a good NY pizza joint is awesome, but I also like other styles like neapolitan, greek style, flatbread style, etc. I don't really prefer deep dish / Chicago style but I'd still eat it.

It's looked down upon because it costs so very little. It's the cheap person's pizza.

I have a friend who ALWAYS, without fail, brings Little Caeser's to social events that are BYOB. He will not order take out from anyplace else.

He doesn't realize we might question our friendship with him if he keeps bringing 5 dollar takeout to everyone.

I too prefer some supermarket frozen pizzas to Dominos (and I really like Dominos), but I'm not sure if it's my oven or the pan I use (I've used pans that don't have holes and those that do on the bottom), but by the time the pizza cooks enough in the middle the sides of the pizza get quite hard.

I'm Italian so I have no choice but to be...I prefer traditional Napolitano style

I'm from the South, so no. Pizza is pizza. Everything is delicious.

ATL has some incredible pizza

Don't knock the deep deep D...I subsisted on it when I worked nights at the data center

I'm somewhat of a Pizza snob. Will only order from two places here in Pittsburgh. Ephesus and Giovanni's. Both are great. Giovanni's makes a sweeter sauce so my wife doesn't really like it.

Whenever I order from a local chain like Fox's Pizza or Domino's we always call it "Shame Pizza". We will eat it, just not tell anyone about it. Haha.

Pizza is pizza unless it's Little Caesar's.

Also Domino's changed their recipe a few years back and it's been much better for it.

I'm not being specific to Tombstone, its the first brand that came to mind. I'm telling you I think Dominos is worse than any supermarket frozen pizza I've had.

A Dominos handmade pie is infinitely better than a Tombstone. The dollar slice place down the block from my office is better than Tombstone.

No I love pizza and I'm not picky.

I mostly eat chain pizzas as they always have deals and the local places are always way more expensive.

not really, I only dislike Delissio because I ate it too often when I got my first apartment and the crust grosses me out for some reason now. And I am somewhat annoyed at how there is a Pizza Pizza on every corner in Toronto and it is about as bad as you can get while still being preferable to frozen oven pizzas. How did this shit get popular? What's wrong with the people in this city?

Little Caesar is for when you just do not give a fuck and wish to punish your body. I eat it but I'm not going to pretend like it is good pizza either.

Kinda. My favorite pizza is Neapolitan, the more authentic the better. Absolutely delicious stuff.

But I also really love American pizza. NY style is my go-to, but I love Chicago about equally even if I eat it much more rarely (it's heavier, much more of a winter food I think).

I don't really eat chain pizza. I rather not eat pizza at all than settle for chain. BUT, sometimes, when I get really desperate, and when they have a sale, I do order and enjoy Dominos. Last time was in the spring when they had those damn good sales. I'll eat Dominos when it's reaaaally cheap, but never at full price. It's like the rite aid ice cream of pizza.

No, I can honestly say there has only been one place where I didn't like the pizza because the cheese tasted rotten. I still ate it

Same for hamburgers, they have been bad only from one restaurant

I mean, I can get down with chain pizza if I want to feel bad about myself, but I vastly prefer good pizza. I spent a decade living in San Francisco, though, so I'm used to not-great pizza.

I am a bit of a snob, but then again I do live the pizza lifestyle. I know how to appreciate the independent places, and the many, many types of pizza, from Detroit-style pizza cooked in an authentic GM parts tray, to a classic New York City slice. Fresh sauce and cheese galore is always welcome at my front door.

But yeah, I pity those that only know chain pizza.

I grew up in Miami, which basically means I grew up surrounded by transplants from New York, so I always ate at places that were supposed to be "identical" to NYC slices. This included a half-dozen pizzerias that actually flew the water for their dough down from Brooklyn. When I think of pizza from my childhood, this is what I think of. The best pizza I ever had was in New Jersey.

I used to be a pizza snob, for sure, but then that kind of subsided once I moved to Chicago, which also has amazing pizza of different types (a lot more than just deep dish, believe me), and then I realized, fuck it. It doesn't really matter how the pizza is shaped or prepared as long as it's good.

And sure, if you hand me a slice from Domino's or whatever, I'll eat it. Pizza is not the hill I want to die on.

Nope, I love pretty much any pizza. I can appreciate good pizza, but I can't think of any pizza that I find straight up disgusting, except Dominos.
