Are you a pizza snob?

Yes and no. I will eat almost any type of Pizza because it's the best food on the planet, BUT I have had some truly epic pizza back home in MA and living in AZ now it's been tough finding new spots that aren't chains. I will go out of my way for a better pie.

Dominos is probably the best pizza in your area, I'm willing to bet that's a fact. A sad fact, but a fact. One day you will realize that there are parts of the country that actually make good pizza. On that day you will look back on this post and laugh.
 
OP off to a terrible start already. Claims New England is "dark times" for pizza consumption. Ignores New Haven is in New England. So sad.

Dominos is undeniably bad. It is food, but it is not good. The pizza itself has absolutely no flavor. The only flavor comes from toppings. Toppings are important, but the flavor in pizza shouldn't come exclusively from toppings.

That said, Dominos is still food and food is good, but dominos is not good pizza. It's just food meal. Also Dominos is cheap and they deliver super late, which is great, but let's not delude ourselves that they make good pizza.
 
I can definitely enjoy bad pizza (though i'd never eat anything too cheap like dominos) in the same way i'd enjoy bacon if you put in on sushi.... but I would rather have a higher quality pizza and appreciate each part of it.

When it comes to actually ordering a pizza i'll always go for the local places use firewood ovens, make their own dough, sauce, and use quality ingredients. I guess I like Italian style pizza.

NYC pizza is good in terms of the ratios, but it's generally still cheap quality when it comes to cheese and toppings.
 
Being in NYC I don't recall ever eating Dominos. I do frequent the $1 pizza places in the city though.

Nah i'll eat anything, also I wonder the difference in Dominos from the US to the UK. Everyone here seems to think its really bad but its like the most popular pizza place in the UK. It's okay but really expensive
 
Kind of.

I can eat--but don't particularly care for--the Greek-style pizzas you find at any place called "____ House of Pizza" or similar. I hate the crust, and if the cheese and toppings don't slide right off then they're too dried-out and tasteless.

These days I'm much more particular since pizza is such a heavy food. I only really enjoy Italian thin-crust style "doughy" pizzas that are cooked in a brick oven or coal-fired oven.

I mean, we're talking pizza. It's tasty junk food in any form. But I prefer to go a bit more gourmet these days if possible.

If not gourmet, then NYC definitely gets it right in terms of a more standardized slice. I don't live there but when I go, I always put pizza on the list of things to eat.

Then again, I'd probably prefer a Neopolitan style now as well. That's something I haven't yet tried in that city.
 
I live in Boston now, grew up outside NYC. Boston has alright pizza places, but most don't hold a candle to even low quality NY pizza. There are a few great places though, I particularly like Santarpio's in East Boston.

Living in Minnesota was infinitely worse though. I didn't realize that most of the country considers Dominoes and Papa Johns to be "real" pizza. They were confused when I asked what the local pizza places were, and just rattled off a list of pizza chains in the area.

Back to the OP's question, yes I think I qualify as a pizza snob.

I wouldn't be surprised if you're one of those people that buys Little Ceaser's the wrong way too.
 
Wouldn't consider myself a snob. I've had very few just flat out disgusting pizzas. Usually those are frozen pizzas or places like CiCis and Pizza Hut (Fucking awful).

A lot of the local pizza places are better than the chains, but I can enjoy most of them unless they are just piss poor.
 
Hell nah. Don't get wrong, I prefer the good shit... I'm just not going to act like pizza coming from a chain restaurant isn't edible. It's fine, convenient and cheaper.

Ya, probably the best of the chain places I've had. I like the taste of Papa Gino's too, but their crust is too chewy sometimes.

It's not the best I've had or even the best in the area. I just don't consider it bad. Definitely worth it for how much it costs at least.

Idk, I like their pan pizzas. The philly cheese steak and bbq chicken ones are pretty good.

You wanna start a fight? Alright, let's fight.

In Minnesota, just off of the top of my head, there's Pizza Luce, Pizzeria Lola, and Cossetta's Pizza. That's not including the folks who do the coal fire or wood fire pizza like Black Sheep, or Punch Pizza.

THEN there's the good chains, like Sarpinos, and Carbone's.

There's FANTASTIC places to go for pizza in Minnesota.
 
I love all pizza. I have rarely had a bad pizza. Deep dish, thin crust, pan, whatever. Any style, any regional twist, I love it all.

I think my two favorites though are thin crust california style, and New York style. There are some rinky dink pizza shops here in Michigan that offer some great, decked out New York style pizzas. Droopy pizza overflowing in toppings, gotta fold that shit. I'd love to go to New York some day and get an authentic slice. I've had pizza in Chicago at a few places, excellent stuff.

In a pinch, Little Ceasers, Domino's, Pizza Hut, smaller chains, they'll all do just fine.
 
I'm weird in that I grew up eating Pizza Hut, which manages to mesh into my tastes because there is more bread and sauce compared to cheese (which, above causing me mild gastrointestinal distress, I dislike all aspects of). I've even gotten to the point of intentionally tilting this ratio further by ordering my pizzas with extra sauce and less cheese.

The net result is that no one will ever share a pizza with me. lol

Oh yeah, if you're talking about their free MLB pizza deals that happen it's definitely worth the price. I agree with that.

I love NYC style, I love Chicago Style (pizza casserole/pie/whatever lol) I love Greek, I love Italian, all different and all good in their own ways...

The only thing I don't like? Cheddar on Pizza get that shit the fuck outta here...
 
In the boston area. I only eat domino's when it is what hossts have ordered and presented to their guests while i'm visiting. I do not know where I would go to find a national pizza delivery chain besides that one, if for some strange reason i needed to. I eat at random local places a few times a month.

Oh I guess we do have uno's. i guess i wind up inside one to eat a deep dish about once a year.

i do eat frozen pizzas at home pretty often, though.
 
I might think some pizzas are better than others but all pizza is great.

Traditional Italian pizza is easily my favorite after living in Rome for 2 years, just because of the crust, the cheese, and the quality ingredients.

But I'll enjoy a dominos, pizza hut, gourmet pizza, NY style slice or a Chicago style all the same.

As long as it's tasty I'll enjoy it.
 
I am only in terms of not wanting pizza hut, papa johns, little Caesars, or dominos.

Where I live in GA, the best pizza place is either Fellini's or Johnny's pizza depending on what town you're in.
 
Being from the UK, I'm gonna' assume that I don't know what good pizza is. The best I've had here is from a restaurant called Fire & Stone in London.

I'd still get pizza from some dank ass kebab shop if that's all I've got at 3am, but given the choice... nah man... not eating like I used to at Uni.
 
I'm from Naples, Italy, the city where pizza was invented and where is still being perfected as we speak. Even compared to other cities in Italy pizza in Naples is an institution (but you can still find crazy stuff in Naples like pizza with egg).

That said, perhaps because I have moved to Ireland I am not a snob at all and I always give a shot to any new pizza that I find. I simply accept that I will not be eating "pizza" (as it would need to be cooked in a wood oven in front of me) and i live happily.
 
Not at all, sometimes nothing cures a craving like a diahrea inducing Pizza Hut meat feast.
 
You will save yourself a lot of money by buying cheap takeout pizza and adding your own garlic and herbs back at home and getting something 80% as delicious as gourmet restaurant pizza. This saved money can then be used to purchase more pizza.
 
Italian, tipo 00, mozarella di buffala, and forno a legna or gtfo
