Are you a pizza snob?

I find it weird when NY pizza fans consider themselves pizza snobs. I like NY pizza, but it's for plebs. A genuine pizza snob would only pedantically eat Neapolitan or Sicilian pizza.

Yes and no. I stay far away from chain pizza, but my preference is for NY style pizza, and everything here in Columbus, OH is similar to the Chicago thin crust style where it's square cut, cracker crust. It's okay, but every place is like that except for a few select ones.

If I'm going to sabotage my diet with pizza, it better be fucking good.

Little bit. I don't order from chains anymore. As a Montreal resident, Pizza Villa is my go-to. Italian run place, wood ovens, homemade crust, all kinds of fancy toppings like rapinis, the whole nine yards. Not exactly cheap but worth every penny.

My parents swear Domino's is the best pizza available to them.

I have bought them Pizza from their local deli/pizzeria REPEATEDLY, which is the best pizza I've had in SJ, but they still order Domino's.

Where should I hide the bodies

So... what is meat on pizza like?

Not at all. Will gladly eat Dominos, Pizza Hut, and Papa Johns in addition to the good local places.

We have no big chains around here, the cheapest stuff you can get is the one made in supermarkets in bakery. I have a good pizza place two kilometers from my house and I usually order from them.

I pretty much like all pizza, even if I have some preferences.

That said nothing beats a proper Neapolitan and I laugh at people who dislike the style.

The worst pizza in the world is still pizza. And pizza is good. When the chips are down, any pizza is better than no pizza.

I'm from new York and I'm not a snob

I enjoy dominos and papa johns the same but there's no doubt that local pizzarias are superior

Chinese buffet pizza is the saddest thing ever

Yes, but I only like bad pizza.

(What other people consider bad pizza is my favorite kind, and what other people consider good pizza I won't touch.)

I don't know how dominos can be seen as the lowest of the low. It has such a savory crust and distinct flavor. Sure, it should have it's own category instead of being called pizza, but there is much much worse! And that pricing... 5.99 medium 2 topping?? 7.99 large 3 topping?? Done.

Little Caesers and Pizza Hut are absolute shit. Anything "fresh and ready" or "hot and ready" is an abomination. The bread is just air, oil, and hard crust. The sauce is pitiful and the toppings are nothing but a formality to match your order.

Some of my favorite pizzas:

Donatos Pizza - thin crust pepperoni
The Upper Crust - anything
Patxi's Pizza - deep dish (with beef is favorite, others great)
Angelo's Pizza - anything (lakewood, ohio)

Disclaimer: No real NY or Italian pizza experience.

No. I mean of course I prefer quality pizza but I also don't think I have ever tasted "bad" pizza. Even the worst pizza I've eaten tasted pretty good. It's almost impossible to even make a bad pizza as pretty much everything goes well as a pizza topping.

Do people have crappy Dominos' near them? Our local one has a great Pan pizza. It's not the best but it's certainly not "trash," "garbage" or any of the other internet hyperboles I've read here.

It's definitely possible to make a bad pizza. You can under cook or over cook it (burn) or you can use expired ingredients. Lots of places do all 3.

I guess I am somewhat snobbish, but not overly. I don't like how the local Papa Johns undercooks and oversauces their pizza, so I choose not to eat it. I'll eat other chains pizza though, frozen even.

Sometimes you just want roughly 100 square inches of food, man.

I would be more inclined to buy Dominos if that's how they advertised.

"Purchase around 100 square inches of cooked food from Domino's."

I'm actually shocked and appalled by the hate for Dominos. You people disgust me.

This is a Pizza Snob thread. We're allowed to despise your peasant food.

I guess I'm not that big of a snob; I just never on my own choose to order anything but the $20+ style pizzas (around here that's what you'd pay at a decent italian food chain that delivers, or places that advertise as gourmet.) A lot of the Italian places in the Seattle area are actually run by Greek immigrants; I really like the flavor profiles they use. And I don't think you'll find better service at any sort of delivery place than Pagliacci Pizza here in Seattle. http://www.pagliacci.com/ They have a very professional staff that answers phones, and they are all over the area.. but only 2 numbers you need to call (one for East Side, one for West SIde) and they route the delivery to your local spot. I figured out that ordering smalls from them (which are still big) gets you the perfectly slightly charred NY style crust that I love.

But if someone ordered Pizza Hut or Domino's at a party I would eat it; I think Papa Johns is my favorite of the huge chains but haven't had it in years.
