Are you a pizza snob?

I think pizza is overrated tbh but it's easy to tell the difference between bad and good pizza.

Dominos is the lowest of the low, if you go out of your way to buy anything from Dominos you're doing something wrong.

Yes. From NYC as well and living in Chicago is killing me :(
Funny. I'm from Chicago and whenever I visit New York the pizza just never feels up to snuff. Chicago's pizza is so diverse that it's hard to imagine not being able to find something someone would like, and their easy access to things like fresh Wisconsin cheese goes a long way.

Oh, there's always lower.

I would sooner eat those than some of the supposedly 'amazing' mom and pop places I have been dragged to.

Not at all. Dominos has been my favorite for a very long time and nobody has been able to shame me out of that yet.

I live in LA. I've had pizza from various one-offs around here that are supposed to be "the real deal" or whatever, but I've never really enjoyed them. I had pizza when I went to NY 20 years ago. I know I loved it, but I have no recollection of what it was like.

Not so much a snob, but I avoid chain pizza. I'll do Costco or even Little Caesars if I'm being cheap, but other than that it's the best local pizza I can get.

I'm moving to Japan. Japan is known for many delicious foods...pizza is not one of them. Some of the last meals I have in Canada is going to be things like pizza and burgers.

The key differences between Dominos and Neapolitan pizza that I noticed were that I had to cut the latter myself, and the cost of an airline ticket. I jest a bit, but really, the difference wasn't a revelation.

Worth noting that Dominos is different from city to city, not to mention country to country. I'd had bad and good chain pizzas in different places. Regardless, Dominos quality is a moot point when it comes to living in Ireland -- it's chain pizza or none at all.

I hate to stand up for Dominos, but they're much better than Papa Johns, Little Ceasers or Pizza Hut. Sometimes you just can't afford that $20 for one pizza from a local joint, or sometimes Dominos is just the only thing open that will deliver late night.

I feel like this is an internet only phenomenon.

No, I'm not a pizza snob. Although I don't tend to eat pizza with sausages or pepperoni.

I've eaten the signature pizza styles in New Haven, St. Louis, New York, Chicago, and California. They're all fantastic.

I also really like Pizza Hut thin crust.

And sometimes I like to have one of these:

I also make my own pizza from scratch.

So no, I am in no way a pizza snob.

*Opens up a thread about pizza snobs, reads some nonsense about NYC pizza*

I'm not a pizza snob, though I did live in Italy for a while. Couldn't get enough of that Neapolitan goodness.

Now that I'm relegated to eating gluten free pizza, I'm pretty snobby about the pizza I eat. I recently found a restaurant that makes their own GF pizza crust, and their pizza is way better than Udi's or similar brands.

NY pizza will always be the best in my heart though.

ive been living in NJ for a few years now, i didnt realize plain cheese pizza could actually be good until i moved up here lol

Long as the pizza doesn't have too much sauce, seafood toppings and isn't from Little Caesars, Dominos or Ci Ci's i am down to eat it.

I would rather go to bed hungry then eat from one of those 3 establishments.

Today I had a coupon for Caesars with crazy bread for $5.25 total with tax. Sure I'd prefer Lou Malnatis or some other incredible Chicago pizza but for 5 bucks it was good. Screw the Caesars haters.

Costco pizza rocks.

Yeah I am

Also, I won't consider a pizzeria good unless their cheese pizza is good, because that's the base of all pizza.

Back when I still ate dairy I found that all good pizza tasted good eaten warm or cold.

Now that I'm vegan I can't be that picky.

Pizza has to be cooked with extra sauce, easy on the cheese, ham+pineapple+bacon and cooked until crisp then you eat each piece with the topping side down so the toppings touch your tongue. Crust can't be too thick or too thin and the sauce cannot be too overloaded. This is the only way to eat pizza, also NY style pizza is BEST pizza.

There's a time and a place. Just like a person can have the time for Mcdonalds and the time for an amazing house burger, a person can also have the time for a quick or available chain pizza and the time for an amazing one. Knowing what's awesomesauce and whats meh but available doesn't mean that the available/cheaper option doesn't have a purpose.

I refuse to try Papa John's exclusively because of Papa John himself.

Yeah, I stopped eating Papa John's after ol' John decided to out himself as an idiot back in 2012. Damn shame since that was one of the only chains that I could actually stomach. I live in a pizza-evolved area though, so it's not much of a problem.

I live in goddamn Rome, would be embarassing if i wasn't.
