Are you buying Nioh?

It's an action game without a jump button where you can actually die, therefore it's a Souls-clonelike. I like Souls games, so I'll buy it.

I might regret my purchase though, the protagonist is a Geralt clone and I didn't like Witcher. We'll see.

These videos just depress me

I really hope this style gets to return, as of the beta the game is half as fluid as this. The other stances were really bad in alpha though and the beta fixed them up nicely. But they over nerf to low was bad

Anyways, this is the ideal video to share https://youtu.be/NXDi0AdgXOQ
That one is his techniques tutorial video for Beta version.

Here's his cool montages of Nioh Beta version

Day f**king one. And I'm prioritising it over any other game I happen to be playing at that point. I'm so ready...

Yes, but I will probably wait for the price to drop. However, I did say that about Dishonored 2, FFXV and several others and have yet to buy any of them yet.

It also greatly depends on the Switch launch. If that has 2 or 3 good games then that is me done for a while given my existing backlog.

I like how Nioh looks and am definitely interested. If it gets a meta of 90+ that will sway me to get it sooner - I don't think it will though.

i played the alpha and demo, i really like the game, but first i need to ensure that this game is not coming to pc, so i have to see the cover and label first.

I mean, even if it was, would you really have confidence buying a PC port given Tecmo-Koei's track record?

Knowing there is a 60fps version on the pro, I can't justify buying it to play on my amateur. If I get a pro I'll get a Nioh but not enough out there to justify pro purchase.

if late 2016 wasn't so packed with games (that i had to impulsively buy) i'd Day 1 it. but it'll have to wait

its definitely something i won't be passing up. unless for some weird reason the finished game is garbage

The alpha and beta was actually goty 2016 for me (yeah, I loved Uncharted 4, DS3 etc), so obviously I will buy and play the living life out of it :)

You guys keep talking about demos but I seem to have missed that. Are they up on the PS store for download?

Also, whatever happened to PS+ allowing you to play like the first hour of every game? Is that feature no longer available?

Both the Alpha and the Beta were limited time affairs.

To all the people saying this game might come out on PC: Sony published games do not come out on PC. If Bloodborne didn't come to PC then neither will Nioh.

Absolutely. Had a blast playing both the alpha and the beta demos. They've done a great job with the feedback, and the update for the Pro sounds good as well. Can't wait!

Now, I'm not saying Nioh is coming out on pc because it most likely won't, but does anyone know how Helldivers came out on pc, when it was a title published by Sony?

Nobody knows, must be a contract or maybe Sony was experimenting with a small title but the fact that there's only one example of it might be telling that it's an exception.

That being said Nioh is first and foremost a Koei Tecmo game, not a Sony game. So nothing is guaranteed.

That was never a feature.
Seriously? I could have sworn that was something you could do in PS3.

Fake edit: I checked, it was possible on PS3, and it was a feature of PS+. I guess PS4 doesn't allow that because... reasons? Surprised to see the feature gone quietly.

Look again. Every PS3 cannot be tested (demoed). It was always small group of very select games.

No, that demo was just way too hard. I'm not into Souls games..which is weird because I grew up on Ninja Gaiden & Castlevania, but I guess it is what it is.

Why did you think it was a musou? The Re-reveal trailer was clearly going for a Souls vibe.

One of the more recent trailers made it feel much more like a Ninja Gaiden game, and that's what sold me on it. I'm sure it has Souls elements, but the Nioh combat appeared tighter and more satisfying to me than Souls games.

already did the last few days of december, went for the deluxe edition on the PSN. i keep refreshing Amazon's page for a cool Steelbook or CE but no dice. of all the games that came with shitty statues or steelbooks this one didnt get it which is a load of bullshit

i will double dip if they put something at the last minute

someone could game share it with you though, i would but the last time i tried it told me to fuck off with my peasant uploading speeds

i hope the day one hype train doesn't derail into a flaming explosion with all of you on board

Well, yeah, this goes without saying. Normally I'm the last person to advocate a day one purchase but I got more enjoyment out of one level of this game than many other games I've played recently. Worst case scenario it's a buggy mess in which case I will return it to Amazon and die a little inside :-(.

Unless something weird happens yes buying it. I only expect more of what we got in the demos/beta/alpha but apparently they've still been improving on that. So either way I have a hard time seeing myself getting disappointed. Unless again something weird like the demo being some kind of amazing sham which I don't think is going to be really likely.

It's a game where you can dismember a guy's leg mid-flight when he's jumping down with an Iai draw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVSHbIogJ4o

How can it go wrong? :P

Besides, after playing both alpha and beta, I can't really see how it's gonna disappoint me, the gameplay is amazing, I've tasted it so I know it for a fact, the combat system tops even Soulsborne for me.

Oh yeah definitely. I was going with the assumption that the person I was quoting had not seen anything beyond the first re-reveal trailer lol
