Are you excited to see Nintendo's first mobile game?

I'm more curious than excited.

Basically this. While I've found that it is possible for good mobile games to exist, even the good ones I've found have been constrained to some degree by the control limitations of the platform. While I don't doubt that the games Nintendo releases will be of quality, I'm still not confident that mobile as a platform is capable of delivering truly satisfying experiences.

That said, if any dev can make a control scheme sing, it's Nintendo.

It will be a little free game or demo to get you to buy the real game on whatever platform Nintendo wants you to get.

So not really. Excited is the wrong word here.

Pretty much. I expect Nintendo's mobile offerings to be primarily promotional ventures and not much more beyond that.

I usually have at least one or two mobile games land in my GOTY Top 10 lists, so I'm pumped to see what Nintendo can bring to the platform.

I'm one of the few excited, apparently. From the statements they've made about making the games ground up for mobile and not just some phoned-in advertisement, as well as their dislike for the current monetization trends, I have hopes that they can give us some fun, unique experiences.

I'm excited to see what they have for this first one.

I just want to see the world correct itself and have more kids play more Mario than Angry Birds and Minecraft. Not that they can't co-exist, but come on...kids deserve more than an Angry Birds movie.
I don't really see kids playing angry birds anymore, it feels like its fallen off big time. Not positive though but i certainly don't see kids with angry birds stuff anymore like i used to in 2011

We're probably going to see something similar to Fallout Shelter (or at least I hope we're seeing something close to Fallout Shelter), a fun mobile game that gives brand awareness to a franchise but doesn't detract from the main series.

I hope it's something that can catch me as much as Hearthstone or game dev story did. Or stuff like You Must Build a Boat!

Mobile is just the platform.
The controls will be touch screens and we know nintendo is good at them - the DS predates the big smartphone gaming era, and does anyone doubt nintendo will have good gameplay mechanics?

My tablet is ready (I don't game on my phone for different reasons).

Want to see if they can do it, if they really can innovate of if its just an other F2P game in a genre that already is out on mobile.

And if its something completely new then its going to be copied and put on android in about 36 hours.

if they came up with it first and it became succesful, they can copy all they want like the minecraft copiers but it wont dethrone the original.

Honestly it sucks to hear that Nintendo won't be doing Gacha. There's something fun about getting a super rate unit and then wrecking everything in your path with it. But anyway, I'm expecting them to do a Fire Emblem game for mobile later down the line since the franchise seems to be doing good lately.

If I'm excited to see Nintendo's first mobile game?

Meh... I'm more excited to see the official presentation of NX, and my body is ready for the disappointment as well.

Wasn't their first already confirmed to be puzzle and dragons or something similar? In that case no. But I could see a future where Nintendo games are more or less the only mobile games I buy. Hoping that they can outcompete the King.coms of the world to make the loathsome mobile scene crash and burn if nothing else.

Don't really have a device that can play them, so no.

I don't mind them venturing into something new though, if this brings in cash to make more traditional games I'm all for it.

You're most likely talking about P&D: Mario Edition and that's a game for 3DS.

Yeah, I'm excited. It's going to be weird having a Nintendo game on my iPhone. Hopefully these games are a lot of fun. I don't expect them to replace my 3DS but I'm always up for a new time-waster on my phone.

I'm curious if we will see a Virtual Console app that functions like the Kindle app, Purchase games through the eShop and be able to DL them to the VC app.

Probably unlikely given how Nintendo runs VC games now (you DL the emulator in full with each game), but some of the slides seemed to hint at a mobile like VC.

Interested.
