Actually, they should be able to (and they generally do) migrate this information to the new account.

but wouldnt the account automatically update on your 18th bday?

funny thing is i got into the original xbox live beta when i was like 13...

It's not just the gamerscore. 3.5 years of saves are tied to this account too along with all of my XBLA games and DLC licenses (400+ rock band songs)
 
You purchased so much DLC you broke the system.

Anyway I made my account and it was a child by accident too :lol
I don't have anything tied to mine though.

Just call again.
 
You're 18? For some reason, I've always pictured you as a short, balding, middle-aged guy. Couldn't tell you why, though.
 
I like how the recently added "*" hides the fact that the word is actually "fucking".

Keeps people working in an office safe from persecution, that does.
 
I've been meaning to ask this for a while, but why are expletives allowed in posts yet they're censored in thread titles?

i have you beat. same thing happened to me with my old live account (0p1vy) except that somehow it got corrupt in a way in which i could not pay for it. i HAD to get a new live account setup (LoopOfHenle), losing all my old gamerscore, friends list, and worst of all, access to my old xbla games (which, admittedly, can still be played so long as i am signed into my old account and connected to live via a now silver account).... SHITTY

Not so. It could be any word that starts with 'f' and ends with 'cking'.

For instance, it could be "Facking", "Fecking, "Focking" or "Ficking". And if you bring consonants into the picture, the possibilities are endless.

Dunno but I'd wager a guess it's because topic titles appear in your task bar, posts don't.

The same thing happened to me last year. It really sucked, but I got over it.

I got a better 'tag out of it and I can download more than demos of licensed G-rated film titles and racing games. It happened around the time my old account was about to expire, which is probably what lessened the blow a little bit.
 
I've been through this crap before. It's called the lazy route. Refuse and escalate. Keep escalating until you're satisfied.
 
Almost the same thing that happened to OpIvy happened to me 'cept I only had 1 xbla game at the time. RIP Rorschach

Also, they said mine was 'corrupted' one of the times I sent in a broken 360 which delayed even getting the coffin mailed to me. An rep on GAF fixed it for me so I wouldn't have to wait another month, though. :P

I'm considering just filing a BBB complaint. It worked out really well for me a couple years ago when Toshiba had my laptop in and out of service for 2 months without fixing it.

Might send an email to Consumerist as well.
 
I like how everyone thinks that the losing the gamerscore is an issue when Costanza clearly states he has about 400+ rockband dlc songs that he could lose. At about $2 a pop that's $800 down the drain if he creates a new account without migrating his licenses over. Granted it's probably less than that using free MS points or buying point cards at discount but it still adds up to a lot of money.
