Are you going to buy NiGHTS 2?

what about air nights? that was in development for awhile right?

For the Dreamcast, yeah. It was going to utilize a tilt sensor that plugged in to the VMU slot. However, most of the ideas never really made it out of prototyping, according to members at Sonicteam. The game never really got far enough along to even have levels or anything.

I'll buy it if it's good. Never played the original one, but I've always been intrigued by the game. So, get to it, Sega!

Well, I have not set anything on stone :lol . If it ends looking like it's going to suck (atm there's no signs of that) I will pass. Besides, it's not Sega Ages.

Isn't it already on your preorder receipt?

I've already paid it off, canceled it, reserved it again, and paid it off once more. I think I'll wait for some impressions from other longtime fans like Segata before picking it up. Besides, I still haven't opened SMG and I've had it for almost a month.

I hope it doesn't. I also hope we get it in the States. But when Sega can butcher a port of Sonic the Hedgehog 1, all bets are off.

Mediocre music is just not good enough. It has to be awesome for it to be NiGHTS.
If the music is not at least as good as the original games, NO BUY!

Videos look promising, they seem to have lost the framerate hiccups; if the gameplay is there, and I think it will, then I'll be getting this for sure.

This is not that and preordering gets you a NiGHTS storybook :oooo

This better come to the States. :\

I don't mind playing my Saturn one, but we don't have a memory cart that works and I know one day that tiny little battery is gonna run out of juice.

I'm definitely buying this first day, I couldn't call myself any kind of a SEGA fan if I didn't. To a lesser extent I couldn't pride myself on being a gamer who gives 'different' titles a chance if I didn't either.

We know what kind of reception these games have had in the past - Killer 7, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus etc - great, outgoing, DIFFERENT titles held high in regards by many (at least in the press) but bought by only a few.

For any of you having doubts over this game or those who want to wait for a price drop, seriously, this is one game you really shouldn't miss. Think back a year ago - a NiGHTS sequel was a thing of fantasy - it REALLY had no chance of happening and EVERYONE was crying out for a sequel - well here it is and I hope all those GAFfers who were so vocal back then are still picking it up or are at least SERIOUSLY considering doing so.

If this bombs and lets face it - there's a good chance it will - (the mainstream gamer wont buy this) you can kiss goodbye to any kind of sequel or Sega taking chances with their games again

BUT ITS SEGA THEY'RE SHIT, RIGHT?

If you're a Sega naysayer, they are getting better, they really are (admittedly not back to the good old DC days) but if they get no indication these games are going down well then pretty much you can look forward to Shadow the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic Riders 3 next year.

BUT THIS TEAM MADE SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG!

It's by the original NiGHTS team. The art style is back, the music is back the atmosphere is back and the classic control scheme is present (if need be). This is so far removed from the crap that was STH. Yes there is some voice acting which isn't that good but that never stopped the original Resident Evil from being a good game did it? Just mute the cutscenes, NiGHTS doesn't speak in the actual levels.

THEY CHANGED IT!

The game shouldn't be dismissed just because the level mechanics have changed slightly, this is a SEQUEL not a remake - a little evolution isn't always a bad thing.

IT HAS SHITTY KID LEVELS AND PET STUFF

These are additional to the main levels, not instead of them - it just serves to give the game longevity.

I'LL WAIT TILL IT GOES DOWN IN PRICE

Pretend you live in Europe where you pay $80 for games all the time, find solace that you're only paying $40 and that you're helping the industry you presumably like a lot.

WHAT IF THE GAME IS ACTUALLY CRAP?

Don't buy it. I would never advocate buying a truly awful game. But all signs are pointing toward positive reviews, yes it probably wont get Mario Galaxy level scores but then again what will? Wii has had a game drought and this is perfect to fill the gap until No More Heroes launches.

STOP PREACHING YOU PRICK!

Yeah sorry this post did come across as a bit of a sermon but I really feel strongly about this game being given a decent chance. Now is not the time to bail out. Aptiva!
Not really. It turned from UNIQUE to generic Disney like, mainly to appeal a wider audience i guess.
Plus they completely fucked up Reala, and i'll never forgive them for this.
day one anyway, fuck me.

Oh, by the way Naoto Oshima's not on the boat this time.

Don't fool yourself, we'd never get something as cool as a storybook. At the best we'll get a coin, or maybe a stuffed animal.

No. They are the criterion collection of gaming from vol. 17 on when they switched developers.

As of right now no i get the feeling this will be one of those bring ip's back tn years later failures, but anything can happen.

10.12.07 - Die Erstauslieferungsmenge von Nights Journey of Dreams von Sega liegt in Japan bei 90.000 Einheiten. Das meldet Enterbrain, das Actionspiel kommt am 13.12.07 in den Handel.

initial shipment's 90K, it'll be interesting to see how this sells

Nnnnnnnnnnope. After the first one years ago, I've now had my fill of flying, toddler-accompanying jester games for the rest of eternity.

M2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> D3

Basically every "classic" reissue M2's been involved has been AAA (various SEGA Ages releases, Konami Arcade DS, Namco Museum DS, all MD VC releases). They're the best in the business imo. I really wish Hudson would hire M2 to fix their greasy PCE/CD emulation on the VC. :(

I'm gonna get it blindly, and just pray it's not horrible. What can I say? Reviewers are totally out of touch with my tastes, and I have a bit of money to spare. Its not like I've ever gotten burned on a bad game before. Though I'm gonna pay extra special attention to what fans of the original game think of it (i.e. Segata)
