Like it or not FFXV is very divisive game. There are people absolutely hated how gameplay works and some people love it. Also when put giant text saying "masterpiece" or "game of generation" you screaming "come hate my game".What I'm trying to saying is, that it's ok to have a personal opinion.
But it is difficult to be able to give a personal opinion (above all positive) on the game, if then you are attacked and accused continuously by those who think differently.
Because Final Fantasy XV has excellent qualities, and I want to be free to express and give my opinion without being attacked by those who think differently from me.
If the people will begin to learn to apcepting the opinions opposite of the other people, without attacking them, the world would be a better place.
Hell no. Everything went downhill since FFX. Horrible direction with combat, art direction, ... everything! I'm sick of playing feminine androgynous types. Fuck outta here
A realm reborn is the only real final fantasy game out there
No, not really. It felt like a Kpop version of GTA without the atmosphere that made GTA immersive. The combat was interesting and the graphics were gorgeous, but I'm tired of squaresoft's boyband characters.

Well Final Fantasy pre-dates GTA in terms of being open world, the original Final Fantasies are open world btw
I think they did an amazing job with world, setting etc Only a few narrative things I had an issue with.
ie He's a Prince, yet walks into a gas station and no one knows who he is? Even when they call him the price some times, they act like he's just a nobody. That would be like Drake walking into a gas station and they like "hi Drake, how can I help you?" (no one gets up and goes crazy)
Even worse, a WAR is going on and folks seem to be Witcher 3 level of dumb, def and blind and I don't mean that in a mean way, I legit mean they behave as if you don't exist. Besides that, I felt the world was crafted really, really well and would love to see how they use those concepts in their next FF title.
"without the atmosphere that made GTA immersive." They need to work on that 10 fold. What GTA or Elder Scrolls does in terms of amazing NPC design by default should be how MOST design NPC.
Someone running away from you cause you are swining a sword like a mad man should not be a GTA concept, that is of a logical evergreen concept that MOST if not all games need to address as it simply entertains that its ok to have these braindead NPC that just stand around.
GTA3 came out in 2001, no reason that in 2015 and 2016 we got games coming out, open world and have NPC that seem like they don't even know you exist lol
I think that choice is a balancing act. Characters roaming off in the distance or shivering with fear. I pull out my gun by accident in Red Dead Redemption and they either warn me to put it away or they start running/shooting. Maybe Square feared technical problems during those scenes. How would a central HUB be utilized if everyone just packed their stuff and left? Why would a shop keeper keep selling the same items over and over if a war was occurring? They'd literally need to track merchants down as they travel or buy a stock of stuff on the way there. When things are peaceful like that, it allows freedom before heading to game changing events.
I like how Dark Souls does NPC's. You can do whatever you want, just don't hit them. Lol
I disagree with this, RPG open world does not need to be as detailed as sandbox. What they need to focus is "thing" to explore like: hidden boss, hidden quest, item...or put some high level enemy in lower zone to show off or make a surprise when exploring. Dont waste resource on thing that does not needed in your game.I think that choice is a balancing act. Characters roaming off in the distance or shivering with fear. Do you know that there is no Final Fantasy that has ever had an alchemical element of composition of the spells like in Final Fantasy XV?
FINAL FANTASY XV IS CONSIDERED BY MANY GAMER, A MASTERPIECES OF THIS GENERATION.
Please tell me you are joking with that. I mean you do know we still got ARPG back then like Tales and Star Ocean series? If you are not in Turn based that fine but don't give me BS about Turn based combat being "outdated".I would move on from turn based combat once and forever. It's not coming back. And it's no better than we have now. Just. Move on. Turns have evolved.
Anyways, 'turns' is not what defined FF, is greatness as a whole:
Technology, story, characters, and gameplay.
Turn-based combat was just that way because of the available tech, There's no point in getting stuck with it right now.
You can rest assured that if we ever get another FF with great story, characters and pace, turns wouldnt be missed in the slightest.
Honestly turn based games like the older FF games just shows laziness to not adapt the game to a newer real time system.Turn-based combat was just that way because of the available tech, There's no point in getting stuck with it right now.

I feel like there's very few games that can properly pull off turn based gaming without making it an absolute chore.
... and? Please tell me you are joking with that. I mean you do know we still got ARPG back then like Tales and Star Ocean series? If you are not in Turn based that fine but don't give me BS about Turn based combat being "outdated".
... and?
That is far from meaning that it isnt outdated.
It just means devs / producers doesnt want it to evolve.
But tlets just clarify things:
One thing is fun. Yes, turns can still be fun. Why not?
But another thing is outdated. Nowadays, current tech allows for more complete and deep combat systems, that are also fun and enjoyable, in ways turns cannot be.
It's fine if you like one more than the other, but you should be conscious that that is your particular taste, and not objective in any form.
Outdated is subjective. Your entire post is your personal opinion, and then you have the balls to call out the other guy? Please. You should be conscious that you're being full of shit.
Sit down, and if your limited attention span allows for it: play some goddamn Xcom.
So, considering 'outdated' a system that comes from more than 20 years ago, and have already evolved in many games, is just an 'opinion'?
Tell me more, please.
Well turnbased combat is fun, what make its fun is the strategy u can make in combat. But i'll take realtime/action combat anyday. Because with this i can fully control my character, not just choose what to do. And real time combat can have strategy too, see Ninja gaiden, Total War or Soul Borne or Tale for more info.
And its outdated combat system from PS1 era is outdated
You're delusional.Because, if you did not know it yet,
FINAL FANTASY XV IS CONSIDERED BY MANY GAMER, A MASTERPIECES OF THIS GENERATION.
You are missing my point.
Combat in FF evolved.
Devs can now realise their visions for the because now the technology is there for that.
That didnt happen in PS1 era, where gameplay was a lot more restricted by the technology available at that time.
SO, turn based combat in FF games can be considered outdated as long as the tech stopped it from evolving.
And this is not an opinion, is a pure logic reasoning, that you should have no problem understanding. That is, if you dont mix tastes in the discussion.
Turns have evolved.
That didnt happen in PS1 era, where gameplay was a lot more restricted by the technology available at that time.
I highly disagree with everything you said. Say what you want but without Japanese games, gaming would have been so god damn boring. I take "colorful and have questionable bat sh-t crazy stories" over 80% of western game stories.Outdated basically means old-fashioned, something you're parents or the older generation would play. Fading in popularity or uncool. The easiest way to quantify that is the sales numbers. Do sales numbers mean something is bad? No, but it means that it doesn't sell well enough to resonate with the majority of the modern gaming audience. Corporations like SE need to sell to the largest available market to stay in business. The largest Japanese games are dwarfed by Western style games in sales which means they aren't popular anymore. Action, open world sandbox gaming is what sells today. No one talks about FF anymore, almost being like the moped you don't want your friends seeing you ride. Most of the Japanese games are cutesy, colorful and have questionable bat sh-t crazy stories. Makes western adults cringe.
Or go to the other extreme of punishing you with unforgivable mechanics. Sometimes both! People say that they tried to copy western games and failed, which may be true. But people don't realize the Japanese's rise to power was taking foreign concepts, ideas and taking them apart and improving on them and adding a Japanese twist to it. That's true in every industry they came to dominate. Turn based games should stay in the handheld or phone world. It's old, and frankly its like someone arguing that they still use typewriters cause it's better than computers?

Well I'm currently enjoying Japanese games both in console and in handheld and I absolutly hype for KHIII which can be considered AAA game.I don't mind them in handheld form and really prefer them in the portable market, but not as a AAA console game. Heck I even think a smaller compact rpg, with 100 percent voice acting and more FMV with a sub 40 dollar price turned out every couple of years could be very popular. More than a 3ds game but less than a AAA PS4 game. I grew up with Japanese games so I don't want them to disappear, but I'm anxious to see new concepts and ideas coming out of Japan not gaming concepts I saw 20 years ago.
