I didn't know Dishonored 2 was developed by a different team. That explains a lot.

It wasn't exactly. Both studios worked on Dishonored 1, but only Arkane Lyon was on Dishonored 2.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but this could just be them reviving "the crossing" from several years ago. Hell if I'm not mistaken, the trademark was even renewed last year.
