Arkham Knights DLC/Preorder content is taking the piss.

I'm just pissed there's no Seal "Kiss From a Rose" MP3 pre order bonus.

Wanted to blast that tune while wrecking shit in the Batmobile.

Personally, I've made my peace with DLC/Preorder bonuses/Season passes. In short: I just dont care about any of it.

All I am concerned about is what I am getting in the base package of the game and whether or not that is worth my $60. If I enjoy the base game enough then I'll start thinking about the additional stuff. I might miss out on preorder bonuses but, frankly, 99% of it is trash anyway and not worth waiting a year to play a game I'm interested in.

Agree I really dont give a crap about horse armour or weapons or in this case batmobiles.

Id rather just play the game when it comes out. If I enjoy it enough then ill consider buying story dlc.

The cosmetic stuff really isnt worth waiting a year for (goty edition)

is this game 30 fps on ps4? ps4 might be the way to go like it was with MKX.

People keep saying this and it makes me worried they'll spite us by not doing it for this game and MKX.

Does anything about this game or MKX make you think they won't take the opportunity to sell it for $60 a second time?

This is usually my approach as well but there are things like the story parts from Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing and Catwoman that I'd love to try. I don't want to end up spending more than $60 on the game though since I'm somewhat tight on money for the time being.

I'm suddenly very glad the Spotify app got to the PS4 when it did.

Then please, break it down for me: How is a company using retailer-specific bonuses as a part of a marketing push "anti consumer"? Is it because we all have an inalienable human right to consume entertainment products?

Oh please, stop it with the strawman arguments. Nobody said that and you know it.

Why do you act as if someone criticizing a game's business model is a personal insult to you? You can be a fan of the game and not mind the business model. Doesn't mean it's above reproach.

Buy the GOTY edition used a year later, then laugh.

Companies who do this shit can dig their own grave. They're a cancer on this industry.

Kinda shocked the AC special edition pic hasn't been posted.

I can get Batman without all that stuff and still enjoy it. But if I hear good things about the Batgirl portion I may buy that if it's sold solo.

What if the DLC content is tied to codes you have to redeem? Then it's the company in question that's laughing.

I have a question about the GOTY edition. Does it include EVERYTHING? Even the retailer exclusive content like that Wally World Batmobile? And the playable Red Hood and the timed exclusives?

No idea, most likely I believe the others did. The only exception is payable joker on Arkham asylum being exclusive forever.

Nope, retailer exclusive stuff isn't a part of it. It might become available for everyone down the line though.

I would love to ask a developer how they feel about creating content that not everyone can enjoy, not everyone is going to buy. I would hate to waste a minute on a skin knowing not everyone who plays my game can't try it out.

It would be funny if retailer exclusive Batman skins were just crummy white t-shirts with the retailer's logo stamped to the center, stretched awkwardly over the regular Batsuit.

And side character skins were just cardboard masks with eye-holes on a Popsicle stick.

And alternate Batmobiles were sponsored by Kia.

Of course the developer doesn't like it but they aren't in charge of those decisions.

Did Watch Dogs ever get a complete pack? That one had some silly preorder/exclusive DLC. I'm sure someone can link the spreadsheet.

Not that I'm aware of.

I got every piece of DLC for Watch_Dogs Day 1, for less than full retail of the base game. No regrets, I liked it.

I really want to play this game but after the season pass and now this, I think i'm going to wait until the goty edition

Still waiting for a Complete Edition / GOTY Edition of Origins to play it....
And no! That release with the redeem code crap doesn't count!

This.

The worst thing about it--more than the exclusivity or carving up content or the bullshit price--is that it wasn't the least bit surprising. Plenty of other devs get away with it so why not Rocksteady/WB?

They can't believe that The Dark Knight is taking all their money.

Games (never mind licensed, comic book games) of this quality are rare indeed! I'd happily fork out anything they ask to play more of it. I think RS are pretty much peerless at the moment.

They under did the dlc on AC, but sounds like they're taking it way more seriously.

Yes, all of the preorder content was made available for purchase, and it was also all part of the season pass. Just like 90% of preorder/retailer exclusive content, none of it was worthwhile or mattered. People get way too worked up over these meaningless bits of content.

For the most part, yeah. I think there was 1 or 2 pieces that were exclusive to the Digital Deluxe Edition (On PC) but there was a work around to get the Deluxe Edition DLC if you only had the standard edition and wanted it.

The retail exclusives do suck for people like me who live in a country that doesn't even have Gamestop or walmart. The only way I could get those things is if it's maybe part of the GOTY edition. I mean I personally don't give a shit about their dlc but if what I saw actually looked good then I would be very annoyed.

If it wasn't Batman people wouldn't be taking these DLC plans so personally.

Also, lol @ retailer/preorder exclusives being "anti consumer". Just because your entertainment products aren't being catered to you in the exact way you want doesn't mean that there's some vast, evil conspiracy to rob you of everything you've ever loved and held dear. It's marketing.

You should look up what anti-consumer actually is because what I've highlighted seems to be what you think it is because when OP said anti-consumer that's not what he meant.
