ARMS Global Testpunch Thread: Let's see if this has LEGS

Not 100% sold. I really want to remap the buttons, I want L and R to stay the jump in handheld mode and I don't want to use the four face buttons, I also want guard on a different input.

I was competitive, but I am also kind of confused on the timing or it could be net code, as several times I would be coming out of a jump/dash with Ninjaru so a warp, and the opponent would be lining up a perfect grab.

It's fun, I need to know how the single player feels and how just local goes.

As well one final complaint, but if two people are together in a lobby they should only be matched for 2v2 matches, it stinks to have to sit and watch when you want to play together.

Just had a 1v1v1 and the other two people didn't know how to switch targets. So I just sat back and watched the two of them duke it out then I went in when they were both low in life lol

This is a commitment you have to deal with traditional controls. You don't have to actually curve at all times for it to get into the center though. If you just want simple curves, try treating it kind of like fighting game inputs.

Is this not an issue at all with motion controls?

Also it's not like fighting game inputs, because if I want to move my body left but keep curving right, there's no way to do that. Punch shifts with stick.

1v1v1 is very bad

This party mode in general is complete garbage. Just let me select the mode I want, Nintendo.

Haven't had a 1v1v1 match yet where somebody didn't try cowering in a corner the whole time. Really obnoxious

Unfortunately that's the best way to win in that mode it seems since the moment you do anything else you get punished by the third person.

Hence why the mode is bad.

I'm the only one in my lobby :3

And yeah I did regular controls and feel like they're trash compared to Motion controls tbh. I just feel like they "clicked" easier with me. Directing your punches with just a gesture feels more natural.

Yeah, finally got to play, and this is pretty great. Going to need to get way better though, geez. Did much better with a pro controller but near as I can tell, controls fine either way.

I enjoyed what I played of it but I really don't know if this will have any legs for me.

I'd like a beefy single player but the menu screen didn't give me much hope for that.

Reached 75 in the lobby, was at the top.

This game is great as it's a fighting game where I don't feel like I constantly have to be a try hard.

Oh man, I ran the lobby this time around. I got to 97 and was pissed because the Testpunch ended right at the start of the last round where I might've hit 100, haha

I'm still bad, but sometimes I win. I even managed to beat three opponents in 1v1v1v1. Thanks portable mode with buttons ! There's no way I go back to the randomness of motion controls.

Tried normal controls again and better than the first time but i prefer motion controls. Was too late to use them as im in bed already lol

Once i got the hang if them I started destroyin with mechanica left and right.
Hover with hammer is pure love lol

The one on ones are super fun. The other modes, though, are pretty crappy and chaotic. Just give me
1 v 1 and I could play all day. Id love to dig deeper in all the arm combination tactics. The characters feel unique too. The play style changes significantly when changing xharacter.

Ok they need to fix the volleyball matches when you lose point with under 5 seconds left. Was up 2-0 lost a point with 3 seconds left and the next ball came out and dropped as an iron ball you can't hit directly down on our side to make it a tie. felt really cheap.

Thanks to this, this game is moving up in the Amazon.fr hourly best seller ranking too.
It might not do Splatoon numbers but it's going to sell great.

I did not expect to have so much fun. Got the most wins with Ribbon Girl, love the multiple jumps and fast punches.

After two matches with motion controls I decided it wasn't for me, and had a far better time with the pro controller.

I just might wake up at 5 AM to play some more.

Not my favorite round. Too many distractions at home, lobby joining, and general connection fuckery tonight. Still a fun game despite my salt towards reasons outside main gameplay.

That's intentional. There's always a ball that ends at 0.

I definitely got into the game a lot more this time around. Deflected more grabs than usual, made it a habit in 1v1v1 to constantly shift targets which resulted in me managing to distract opponents. In 2v2 I try to be grouped up with my partner so I can cover for him if he gets grabbed. Also, SHIELDING against flurries is fucking indespensable; builds a charge to use against the opponents and jumping out of it to go for a hard punish. If your opponent uses a Heavy Arm, it is especially easy to escape it.

I'm finally starting to feel good at the game and I'm loving it.

Okay, I still think the controls are pretty off and wonky.

BUT this go round I went with Ribbon Girl and it really clicked. Her insane mobility with the slapamander is something else just jumping and slapping really found my niche.

Got to like 86

Also adopted a new strategy for 1v1v1 or 1v1v1v1 fights, just switch targets constantly, keeps one person from getting ganged up on so it feels good, but also throws people off cause they are expecting a gang up and you turn on em.
