Army of Two video 'Security and strat'

Visuals looks great and totally possible, and if they can deliver firefights like Gears, in a real-world setting, then this will be great fun.

I'm surprised at how good this looks in motion.

I'm also surprised at how bad the voice-acting is. I expected grittier, "manlier" voices and instead we get actors that succeed in making the profanities sound incredibly cheesy. I hope those were just placeholders...

Still curious about the game regardless. I'm always up for some co-op.

Sound like normal human beings to me. You know these guys aren't supposed to be gruff space marines, right?

Even Jack Dark had a better voice, and we all know how bad the voice-acting in PDZ was...

And space marines have nothing to do with this. I expected voices that actually sound somewhat "bad-ass" and make the swearing sound somewhat natural, but as is, they seem to swear solely because they can. Similar as to how EA tried to give the impression that their recent Need for Speed games (and tuning) are the coolest things on the planet.

Like I said: a little disappointment, but it won't necessarely stop me from enjoying the game if it turns out to be good. But, currently, I prefer Kane & Lynch in this regard.

Hopefully EA injects them with some grade-A bean soup steroids though, oh, and put a couple inches of armor on them, then we're talkin' baby!!!

Seriously... EA had a lot of nerve to talk smack on Gears, and this is their chance to back it up... I have to agree though they have a bit of innovations here, like all the co-op tag-team stuff you can do in it... stopping bleeding with female trinkets... throwing each other clips... CPR and running away from the light lol... They better deliver though...

I mean, it's possible for EA to make something new and interesting... look at AC... if Ubi can make something fresh and seemingly fun, I'm sure EA can too...

I'm having a sort of splinter cell feeling from this. With the 'gadgets'/'tools' and the 'moves'.

Didn't EA get several people from UBI Montreal to make this? Not surprisingly, this is being made by EA Montreal.

Actually I think that the trailer shows voice recognition in action. Notice how one of characters repeats "shut the hell up" in two different scenes? Maybe that's his response when you say something irrational.

Yep, I think at least the key people at EA Montreal were 'stolen' from UBI Montreal.

But really, it kind of feels like a badass/edgy Tom Clancy IP and taken some inspiration from Splinter Cell. It's going in a very different direction than GOW.

There's a lot of 3rd persion shooters/action titles coming.

They've pretty much put themself in a put up or shot up situation after their GoW comments. So they've got alot riding on this game being as good as it appears to be in that trailer. The one thing they're definetly going into the right direction with is how co op focused it is. That's one aspect of gaming that alot of gamers have been wanting more games to focus on.

Yes, co-op is pretty much the best thing about gaming.

umm yeah...that looks very impressive...up there with anything Ive seen from both consoles....didnt expect that...better be real time

looks good, sounds awful...

the dialogue is what you'd expect from teenagers, not paid mercenaries...

i'm sorry, but have you spoken to some of the people in the military?

halp uz jahn carrey?

Edit: I don't exactly know where you were going with that, but these people aren't in the military. That's kind of the point of being a paid mercenary.

Yeah, ok. I'm not exactly sure what was in the Kool-aide some of you drank, but that doesn't even touch the detail in GOW. Not the player graphics, certainly not the architecture or background complexity, not the color palette, and certainly not the lighting.
This is impressive looking in its own right, but anyone saying this even APPROACHES looking 'better' than Gears, IMO, hasn't played Gears.

RELAX, this is coming out on the 360. And yes I think it looks better.

great, now "Army of Two" is the GoW KILLLLLLAH. right. some of you guys will do anything to put down a great game.

looked good, but NOT as good as GoW, and clearly so

gameplay looks promising though

Agreed on both points. The more co-op games the better :D unless you have no friends...then I'm sorry

GUYS WHY THE **** do you have to say it looks better than GEARS? Why not wait until it's playable first?

This anti-EA crap is really starting to get on my nerves. Sure, the company supplies the market with more than it's fair share of shovelware and barely-updated annual updates, but it's not like that's all the company does. With the way some people talk, you'd think we were talking about Titus or something.

I agree. People talk about EA like they are pure ass.

It's remarkable how utterly barren much of the environments are .
This is impressive looking in its own right, especially some of the coop potential it demonstrates in the video, but anyone saying this even APPROACHES looking 'better' than Gears, IMO, hasn't played Gears.

I've played Gears (although only for a bit on someone else's 360), yet I think this game looks better. I also think this game looks graphically better than MGS4...and Halo 3 so far. Until they prove otherwise, I think this is graphically the best next-gen game yet.

Nothing to put down Gears. Gears is the best game out now and probably for a while. Could it be possible, though, that another game not out yet looks better? Shock! Horror!

looks good, potentially great...but this is what frustrates me about EA they have the man power and budget to make good games why dont they do it more often ?

I was disappointed by the lack of tampons plugging bullet wounds, but I have to admit this game looks like it has potential. Certainly it's stepped up in the graphics department, and I like how your teammate can fire while you're dragging his wounded body.

I wish they didn't talk, or do anything stupid for that matter. Whenever I saw screenshots of the characters in this, I portrayed them as monsters (cold, silent, "psychotic", killing machines). I guess Kane & Lynch will feed on that end. Although, I imagine that K&L is pretty different.

To the contrary, i like how its lighthearted. kinda reminds me of the lethal weapon series.

that guy in kane and lynch just looks like some drunk down and out though

the game looks interesting. should be fun to play with a mate.

and the people bitching about the dialog between the two mercenaries are hilarious.

Looks interesting and definitely the most promising EA upcoming game.

But I honestly can't see how this game looks better than Gears...
