It's kinda amazing how fast Arnold has really destroyed his career after his return. He really should have picked fewer better projects. And yet King Conan still hasn't happened.

Guy is crazy wealthy, he'll be okay. As for King Conan, I wouldn't be surprised if one of the many reasons for the long gestation process has to do with John Milius still recovering from his stroke (I can't imagine they wouldn't want to include him in at least some capacity).

Franchise creator James Cameron — who has stayed on the sidelines since directing the first two classic films — is the beneficiary of changes in copyright law. Basically North American rights to the franchise revert back to him in 2019. That is because the copyright reversion now takes place after 35 years, and The Terminator was made in 1984.
