:lol One of my favorite scenes.

"They cannot charge a husband and wife for the same crime."

I love that scene.

I thought the uncut version of it (where they didn't bleep out the swearing) was funnier than the aired version though.

can someone put that into context. i want to lol too.

George Bluth, Sr.: [explaining why he gave the company to his wife, Lucille, instead of naming Michael CEO] "They can't charge a husband and wife for the same crime!"

Michael Bluth: "That's not really true."

George Bluth, Sr.: "Really?"

Michael Bluth: "Yup."

George Bluth, Sr.: "I got the worst [bleep]-ing attorneys!"

Tim Goodman interviews Mitch Hurwitz and Will Arnett.

- Arrested Development movie script hasn't been started.

- Mitch Hurwitz is working on seven pilots.

- ABC passed on his post-AD show, The Thick of It, for Cavemen. :lol

From the article:
"Fans of the comedic call-back (which "AD" was masterful at) take note: Hurwitz says there are still jokes and references they planted in the series that they want to revisit in the movie."

Most rewatchable movie ever confirmed.

But thats hilarious.

"Theyve cut our order from 22 to 18 houses!"
Oh my god, is that a real quote? :lol :lol :lol

I will be watching this series when I'm 80 and still catch new jokes, holy shit.

that isnt even the best part. The following is a paraphrase

"What about the Home Buyers Organization, does HBO want us?"
"Well then I guess its Showtime... time to show people (yada yada yada)"

Yeah, I caught on to those lines pretty quickly... but an episode count joke is so much funnier and more meta to me :lol

Betting money on a GOB heart attack.
"I know what an erection feels like, Michael. No, it's the opposite -- it's like my heart is getting hard."

I called that GOB was banging George Micheal's ex (can't remember her name) from watching the third season over and over again before they showed the final four all together. I was too obsessed with it and people got pissed and said that I had to of read spoilers from the internet or something.

I've made a huge GIF.
That's great!

I want Marta to come back to Michael, saying she'd made a huge mistake too... but I want the actress who plays her to switch between Leonor Varela/Patricia Velasquez/Unknown Third Actress for no stated reason in the movie. I still think that'd be an awesome in-joke for fans of the series.

Speaking of this gif, what's the song right after? When Michael drives Marta to the Desi's in the Bluth truck. It's 8 minutes into the episode:

http://www.hulu.com/watch/1781/arrested-development-key-decisions#s-p4-n1-so-i0

I need to know! It also plays frequently in other episodes. Help me NeoGaf. You're my only hope.

I found this after googling the only lyrics I could make out.

edit: looks like youll have to get the AD soundtrack for the tune, its just under 2 mins long and is on that, with few simple google queries it can be *found*

Sorry for the bump but I've just started watching and I hate how they changed Marta's actress. Finally, I think Marta should totally be with Michael in the end, but please have the hot marta, not the other one.

The first Marta was hotter, but the second Marta was funnier.

wow some of the shit i pick up on only after seeing an episode 4 times:

Rita: You found out.
Michael: Took me long enough.
Rita: Maybe you´re not smart, either. I didn´t know until they told me.
Michael: No, I´m just a narcissist who was too self-involved to see the truth.
Rita: That makes no sense to me.
Michael: *smiles* Yeah maybe you´re right, maybe I´m being too hard on myself.

:lol brilliant

i´ve been going through the episodes again and i think i´ve picked up on a lot more because i´m watching it alone. haven´t done that since the first viewings

A big mistake I've taken when trying to introduce friends to AD is we'll watch it in groups or I'd be there because I want to tell them all the tiny funny things that are going over their head. It just doesn't work that way though. On first viewings, AD should be watched alone.

Lol man I loved Rita

"Well, so what if I have. I’ve got feelings, all right? I’m a woman, too, Not some robot you get to tell everything to! I’m sick of it! I’m sick of it all! Your instructions! And your letters! And your little missions! And stupid assignments— “You do the math, Rita.” Well, no, you do the math!"
:lol

:lol yeah that´s another one I don´t think I really appreciated until the last viewing. i´m not sure if i even understood at that point that she was an ´MRF´ during the first run through

this was also the case with everything related to spanish. i´ve learned spanish since last seeing AD and, not that one needs to speak much at all to understand everything, but i definitely got more out of it.

michael, for reasons like that, is slowly becoming one of my favourite characters. he has a depth that the other charactes don´t, that i haven´t appreciated until now. before i saw him more as a foil, but he really is incredibly divided morally and this is demonstrated all the time and very consistently. he often does ´the right thing´ but sometimes only after doing the opposite. he manipulates his son constantly. he´ll occasionally act morally, but only to be perceived as doing so, or to differentiate himself from his family. and he has a unique self-consciousness that is often limited by his own selfishness. the only reason he even sticks around is because he loves being needed, something driven home a few times.

but then there´s GOB. they actually wrote him to be a satire of dramatic characters. the cheesy music during some of his scenes, his varying emotions, tendency to cry or laugh, etc etc. i never actually noticed that he is almost always either happy, sad, angry, jealous, or afraid. no one beats GOB

Yeah, I've made the same mistake. It's just so hard though because there are always little in-jokes and references to the cast's former roles as well as as past and future events. One I just picked up on last time I was watching the show; somebody made a wisecrack about Opie and Ron Howard said something along the lines of "they better watch their mouth".

:lol
