The guy who wrote freaking Final Destination 5 wrote a movie that received a 100% Fresh score on RT? Damn, anything can happen. I'm gonna have to reconsider everything in life.

We all have to get a foot in the door one way or another. Fair play to the guy. Everyone starts somewhere.

Really liked that trailer.

I still don't know what the fuck is going on and I'm interested in finding out.

Of course, most of the experts at GAF must have figured out the entire plot by now, but I'm stupid and whatnot. Can't wait to see it.

I would highly recommend avoiding all trailers for this, I feel they show a wayyy too much.

It's an amazing film regardless, but going in dark makes it that much better imo.

I'm pretty proud of Denis Villeneuve. It's not often that someone from Quebec, where I live, succeed that much internationally, especially on the "Hollywood" side. And I love sci-fi! Will watch.

It's one of the best movies I have seen. I was absolutely blown away by it.

Please go into this without any spoilers...

Please.

Prisoners was pretty great, as was Polytechnique. I saw all of his movies at a festival last year and his early movies are alright. There's one with a talking fish

I fucking love "non-violent" sci-fi/alien movies like this. Contact and K-Pax are two of my favorite movies so I can't wait to see this one.

The trailer seems ridiculously generic, with nothing I've never seen before. I'll probably catch this anyway, since the reviews are so glowing and I love first-contact scifi.

Comes out on the 10th here, just between Doctor Strange and Fantastic Beasts.

Rather happy that this is being reviewed well. Villeneuve is one of my favorite directors so it is great to see him putting out yet another great film. Gives me some hope for Blade Runner 2.

Only a few days more until I can enjoy this film.

Saw this a few nights ago. It's fantastic. Probably one of my favorites of the year, and encourage everyone to check it out.

Blade Runner 2 bout to be sooooo gooooood

Liked Sicario, hated Prisoners, but think the author of the short story this is based on (Ted Chiang) is an absolute genius who's written some of the best short stories of all time. I'm excited!

Prisoners was notably better than Sicario, IMO. Sicario was good, but a bit dry at points.

I just ordered a ticket for Arrival on Thursday night. Going to go see it alone, and for free, thanks to cereal.

Loved this movie and among the best I've seen this year. (although Prisoners is still my favorite of Villeneuve's bunch)

Don't go in expecting a lot of action. It reminded me of Contact and Interstellar, but whereas I had some problems with the endings of those movies, Arrival left me more satisfied.

Really? The ending for me is the most interesting part, how it recontextualizes the movie. I'll say no more!

Yeah, I see that it works and has something pretty clever to say about
film structure as an alien language
, but for some reason I was disengaged, which is unusual for me given the use of certain plot elements that usually hit my weak spots.
