As an average gamer, which console do I buy?

I'd say I'm an average-just below heavy gamer, and with both consoles out (for US anyway), which console do I buy from the table above? I need advice/recommendations/help.

Do I wait?

Go with whatever console you think has the most appealing exclusive games.

If you aren't particularly concerned with exclusives then you have to make a decision between the better multiplatform games on PS4 vs. the all in one multimedia features of the Xbox One.

I don't think anyone can truly tell you which one to get. Going to have to compare and figure out which one is best for you, your preferences and your entertainment setup.

WiiU + Mario 3D World and pick up one of the two next year. That's what I'm gonna do if I get a new console this month. I've basically decided on PS4 for next year though. Though I loved my 360 early on, they lost steam as the generation went on and my PS4 ended up with the better exclusives. I doubt Microsoft will even try to moneyhat Japanese developers this time so I don't think I have any real reason to pick up an Xbox One.

Same situation. Learn from the past launch experiences:
- Buy when there is a game you want - otherwise you are just a beta-tester.
- The 2nd-3rd gen of a console is usually the smallest or most efficient designed.
- The 2nd-3rd price drop also means that a sufficient amount of AAA games are in the wild at competitive or GOTY bundle/prices.

Get whatever your friends are getting so you can play online together if that is your thing.

If you play solo, I'd wait it out for now.

Overall - wait.

If you need one now, I suggest the Playstation 4 to give the Xbox One a chance to breathe and possible drop Kinect or the price.

You wait until one console has enough exclusives to drive you towards it.
Then you buy the opposite because, yolo and hashtag-stuff.

iPad Air is the answer

Good rule of thumb when buying consoles: if you can find at least 5 exclusive personal must-have titles for the console, then get it.

your metric scale isn't very stringent

so

like a facebook/casual gamer, a bro gamer, a sports gamer, a core gamer, a dark souls 3d dot game/hard ass gamer..

If you just want games at the highest resolutions/iq or if that is what you prioritize, or you want the cheaper system then get a ps4. If you want an entertainment system that brings together all of your entertainment and can play games, get an xb1.

Your going to hear some pretty slanted opinions in this thread, but honestly, you cant go wrong with either choice.
