Can I get some Andy Lau love?

He's like the Chinese Brad Pitt, just with less adopted kids and more awesome.

Hell no, Jon is practically American and I dont think he has much in terms of cultural heritage.

Want a real Asian man?

Lee Byung-hun who is in GI Joe Rise of Cobra

As a guy I greatly admire his acting ability and handsome looks, but if I were a chick....

Holy shit, I just realized he's Wayne from Lost Planet.

Mind blown.

But OT, Does he come from Monterey Park or San Marino? If not, Jon Gosselin does not represent Asian men at the least.

As far as I can tell, the only way America has been able to accept Asians have been people of mixed blood, such as Jon Gesselin. Keanu Reeves? He's ok. Dean Cain? He's ok. But if he's 100% Asian, then he HAS to either shoot guns, know kung fu, and not have any interest in women.

This is so true. I don't even remember the last hollywood movie I saw that had a full blooded asian male playing the lead role that didn't adhere to the usual stereotypes. Are asian males really that aesthetically unpleasing to the western world? I also think that generally, asians are passive so there isn't any major movement regarding media representation. The media as a whole can continue with these stereotypes and oppression. Anyone remember the hot97 shit that happened after the tsunami disaster?

It's like all these years of portraying us in that light has engraved the western world's perception of us.

I believe this to be true. I'm in college and many white girls just don't like asian guys. It sucks because i'm not attracted to asian girls. It's gotta be the white side in me.

There are still racists in the gay community(and probably alot more overt and in your face too), but I got no trouble finding quality (white men) ass :)

What? Asians do have slanted eyes. I'm sure there are a couple that don't have that naturally but then there are those others that get surgery to achieve "double eyelids."

I think Asian features on Asian women are attractive. Whatever.

I'm asian and I don't have slanted eyes. Fuck stereotypes, many Asians don't have reptile slits on their faces you know.

Dude in OP looks really high or ... What is wrong with him?

Anyway media aside IRL alot of girls like Asian men, Just because you don't see it on TV... Hell they are still trying to get used to black and white love on screen. :lol

You are being overly sensitive. I'm Jewish and I have a "Jew-fro", not all Jews have naturally curly hair but I don't get upset if someone points out the fact that I have curly hair or says that Jews have "Jew-fro's." Get over it. I really don't think pointing out an Asian feature is demeaning in anyway but I don't have any control over it if you choose to take it that way because some racist asshole at some point in your life made fun of you for it. Do you also get offended when people say Asians have straight, black hair? I live in a city that is majority Asian and that is what I observe everyday. Hey, in addition to my "Jew-fro," I also have big, pouty girl-lips and you are welcome to also make fun of me for that if it makes you feel better about your Asian features.

As long as you stay out of homogenous yuppie neigborhoods that is. (i.e. Clarendon if you live near D.C.)

I'm not really being sensitive about it since it's an obvious stereotype. I just found it odd that you had to say that, despite it being on the contrary. But hey, if you're okay with making such broad statements like that, than lets just leave it at that.

You're being stupidly sensitive about it.

People aren't looking at our hair, ears, or noses to determine if we're Asian. They're looking at the way our eyes are shaped. Slanted or not, they have a distinctive shape.

Well, I'm a 6'3" Korean, so I don't know who could represent me. :lol
Hong Man Choi? For reference, Fedor Emlianenko (on the left) is 6 feet tall.

You have curly hair and people make fun of it, but you're fine. Great. The issue is many Asians don't have slanted / small eyes and people still make fun of them because of the stereotype.

And, when has long black hair been bad stereotype?

No shit it's distinctive, but that wasn't the point of my post. I was talking about the fact that MANY Asians don't fall under the slanted eyes stereotype, despite the fact that the previous poster thought differently. Don't know why'd you have to bring up hair, ears and noses, but you completely missed the point of my argument. I wasn't talking about the "distinctiveness" of one's eyes.

Not every black guy likes to play basketball.

I don't even know what you're really trying to get at. So a lot of Asians don't have slanted eyes. What do you want? Stereotypes are stereotypes. I don't know any Asians that are good at math, let's stop the presses.

Alright, I'm just wondering but did you even understand the reason as to why I responded to B!TCH's post?

And the reason why the point was brought up in the first place was that someone here didn't find Lucy Liu attractive because she looks like a walking stereotype, and some geniuses just couldn't possibly figure out why that would be when "GOSH! WHY? THEM BE ASIAN FEATURES!"

Please don't perpetuate the stereotype that Asians can't read English.

People making fun of slanted eyes similiar to black guy can't play basketball. Is this a joke comparison? How about you get some Asian friends and ask them how it feels.

I don't feel upset at all when people tell me my race has slanted eyes.

I was wrong in my post earlier though, I attributed all the stereotype-type hate to one guy when it was really about half a dozen of you over the last two pages complaining about the slanted eyes stereotype. I don't see what the big deal is. Just about everyone thinks Asian eyes are the race's most attractive feature.

Guess, you must be lucky because every Asian I know got teased by slanted eyes stereotype. You know one by pulling eyes back with hands and saying ching wong. These include people without these traits.

I never really thought of him as asian or white. He's just BLEH.

What bugs me is when people say if you want double eyelids surgery it means you want to look more "western". I have them naturally (and so does most of my family) and we don't look any more western or white, lol. They are not an exclusive feature to westerners only.

I seem to be very ignorant on this subject, I thought all Asians had slanted eyes. I have been told by many people I have Chinese or "chinky" eyes I thought that was seen as slanted, is that just the wrong description or bad choice of words to say slanted? Any pics showing the difference?

i remember in 3rd grade a much larger kid pulled at his eyes and gave me the ching chong ching. then he cautiously asked if i knew kung fu like bruce lee. i lied and said i did and he backed off and got scared.

So Japan-gaf, when were you going to tell us your legs were connected directly to your chests, bypassing hips entirely?

That propaganda book over there is incorrect. We're joined at the rib cage, not the hips. Superior appendages right there.
