Assassin's Creed creator may show his next game soon

Assassin's Creed creator Patrice Désilets may be gearing up to show off his next project. Asked by Internet super-sleuth Superannuation if he has any interesting news to share in the coming weeks, Désilets responded, "Probably yes...at least I'm working on it."

According to Superannuation, Désilets has been under a "no-compete" clause since he was let go from Ubisoft last year which has forbade him from showing any new games. This clause is apparently set to end at the end of the month, which would mean that Désilets could show off his new project if he wanted to.

Désilets is not famous enough to make the title? I always find this strange.

Anyway, i was really pissed by how he was treated by Ubisoft, i wish we had more infos on that whole ordeal.
I wish him the best, since he basically gave Ubisoft their biggest franchise ever, and got shit for it.

Ninja's Code - A stealth action-platforming game where you must eliminate targets in a vast open world. Unique missions such as eaves-dropping are featured.

I don't quite understand the situation he's in right now.

He got terminated by Ubi last year. Does his clause prevent him from getting employment elsewhere, or whatnot?

i only ever played the first Assassins Creed game and found it's initial story to be really interesting and addicting. hopefully his next game has another cool premise.

It does. He also suffered the same shit when he originally left Ubisoft in 2010. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to him. He leaves Ubisoft to work an original IP for THQ. Ubisoft buys THQ and terminates him and the project he had been working on for several years. Yves Guillemot is such a fucking asshole.

I can't believe he's under a no-compete clause despite being outright fired.

I've always suspected there was something "off" with Assassin's Creed 2, and only did I realize this guy was let go after the IP was developed. Now that the shackles of this stupid clause is about get loose would we get to see what his next project might be. I hope it's the spiritual successor to AC1.

He worked on 1, 2 and AC:B, he left Ubisoft before the game was finished.

Wait Patrice is AC creator? I thought it was Jade Raymond?

lol

That would be incredible. Patrice giving the finger to Ubi by doing what Assassin's Creed fans have been asking for since the first game: open-world ninja game.

lol, I remember at E3 and Ubi had Jade there to talk about her big promotion and women in gaming and AC2. So when AC2 becomes the topic it immediately becomes apparent that she hasn't a fucking clue about the game, she looks to the side of the stage for help, and two devs come over and take over the mic.

(it was either AC2 or ACR)

How do these deals usually work? Do the people at least get paid during the period when they are not allowed to compete?

I'm guessing that kind of non compete wouldn't hold up or really be enforced elsewhere in the gaming industry. Or maybe it was just a stupid mistake on his part to sign it.

Does the non-compete only restrict him from promoting his work for a certain time? That seems weird.

Lol sorry! AC1 is my favorite and I remember devouring every news media for it. Jade was front and center and Patrice was a nobody. Hell I didnt even know who Patrice was till AC2 previews!

I'm onboard with anything Patrice decides to create, he had a lot to do with the Assassin's Creed games(the first and second one primarily) and I believe Human Revolution, Which is such an amazing Deus Ex game after the fun tragedy that was DX:Invisible War.

Of course the original Deus Ex is a complete masterpiece but in my honest opinion, Human Revolution sits up there with it as perfection.

Except for that last level, holy fuck that was terrible.

Since he's been under a no-compete, and his IP got swallowed by Ubi and promptly canceled, I imagine he might be about to pitch an idea on Kickstarter.

He worked on Human Revolution? Didn't know that.

A nobody? He was only the creative director of motherfucking Prince of Persia: Sands of motherfucking Time.

The only nobody and general waste of space is Jade Raymond.
