Assassin's Creed gameplay from the TGS

Why is that some people always critique games to the slightest detail, its annoying as hell to me personally. No game is ever going to be perfect, and AC seems to be doing so many things at once it would be idiotic to expect complete perfection. So many people on this board seem determined to ruin their experience before they ever pick up the controller. It's really stupid if you ask me. Take what you're given and learn to appreciate it instead of always wanting things to be better than they are.

Oh, and AC looks absolutely fantastic by the way. The amount of freedom and possibilites available for the player to interact with the game world are absolutely stunning. Its setting also is about as cool as it gets. The team actually researched the gridwork and architecture of the cities the game takes place in, and did a damn good job of replicating it. I mean seriously just look at it.

I just watched the gamespot interview bit. Holy crap was pretty much my reaction, this game is taking sandbox play into a whole new realm, I cannot wait to own this game!

Looks like the gang is going to a private presentation of the game tomorrow, so hopefully we'll get some footage showing people actually playing.
I'm really surprised by the framerate, I had heard a few months ago from my usual sources at Ubi that the framerate would be quite bad even in the final build, but this didn't seem bad to me.

Needs a delay. Animation needs major work - what good are pretty graphics when the character looks like a puppet on strings? Neat concept, but needs a LOT more polish.

I see in the pics they are running on 360's. Was any of them running on the PS3?
Last I heard Ubi was saying the 360 version will have superior AI becuase the PS3 can't hadel that level of AI. Maybe they are still struggling with getting the enemy guards to circle the player and wait their turn to strike, on the PS3.

Is there PS3 gameplay or this is only 360 gameplay ?

Show up Assassin's Creed on PS3 please !

Yeah, Sony might have just wasted money on the "exclusive" since we've never seen the damn game on a PS3. Delay for PS3 would be like cutting off one of Sony's balls. What's the scoop on the PS3 version?

:lol

I've totally given up on the PS3 version of this game, Ubi's total reluctance to show it is a bad sign. Only COD4, Uncharted and maybe UT3 will grace my PS3 this November.

Seriously. I'm not even sure what to think at this point. They simply REFUSE to show it.

If the 360 version is running poorly, I can't imagine what the PS3 version will be like.

I wouldn't be that concerned, Ubisoft has gained ground with PS3 development pretty quickly (Splinter Cell was clearly downgraded compared to the 360 version, with Rainbow Six things went better and with GRAW2 the two versions are the same). With Assassin's Creed the 360 is the leading platform so development is a bit ahead on that platform, so it makes sense since the release date is getting closer to not lose time making a PS3 demo and use that time to make a simulateneous release.
BTW since a PS3 demo was supposed to be at the show originally it would be interesting if someone asked Jade about it at TGS.

In all honesty, someone from Ubi came out and debunked that a while ago... I'm not concerned about that as much as how the game runs on the PS3, my pre-order is for the 360 right now because of Ubi's shitty track record... I hope this game turns out well though, I like the setting and idea of this game a lot... I hope it at least comes close to the quality that Uncharted is going to end up being... I need some action/adventure gaming goodness...

And then ruin it with a retarded HUD. Now that pisses me off.

This still making a fall release or is this going to quietly slip to 08 like so many others?

Ubisoft has finished the alpha version of the game and is now polishing everything. So yeah the game is definitely coming out this fall.

I don't see this game even making it out this year on the ps3 let alone on the 360. For 360 one of the 2 big games that time AC and Mass effect will be pushed into 2008.

im no touching this till i see the PS3 version in action

cuz my bad-port sense is tiggling

I hear you. I feel the same way. I'm just a little concerned that I have yet to see any footage at all of the PS3 version. Every time I see this game previewed, it's always on a 360. When I watch videos of gameplay, I always look to see what button prompts show up onscreen. It's always A, B, X and Y. Never a square, circle, triangle, x. I wouldn't be surprised if the PS3 version of this game is delayed till early 08. The life of a PS3 owner...

:lol :lol :lol hilarious.

Exploring and climbing everywhere looks awesome. This game will surely deliver some nice vistas.
There sure are a few issues like foot going through the roof, or the character floating above it a bit (I wonder if we'll have a frame by frame analysis of this, heh) but the sense of freedom is really nice.

The combat... just look terrible. There's not a single part of it (except maybe the killing moves) that look good. AI, animation and gameplay still look like they need a lot of work :/
I've never seen it really improving since they've shown the game for the first time so I really don't know what to think...

This is UBISOFT?

Its like EA has started using their A-game this generation and UBI is like "DAMN THEY CHANGED THE RULES ON US" *remembers UBI's Wii efforts in anger*

:lol

I worry for this game because this is one of those games that I really want to deliver!
Just judging by the gameplay videos themselves, the game runs pretty smooth, but it's still not there imo!
The wall climbing and all the free running is absolutely fantastic, but the combat and crown interactions is still not polished enough!

There's so much potential for this game and that's why I don't want it to fail! I don't want to to "Rush" the game out just to meet holiday season! I want the Ubi team to really take their sweet time with it and make it as best as it can be!

This is one of the few times that I actually hope for a delay in order to have a more polished product in the end! Please AC team, don't rush this baby!

I really do hope this game makes it through the finish line and ends up being great.

I think Assassin's Creed, like Mass Effect (or LBP for that matter), is just a crazy ambitious game. It's like this fully realised fanatasy set in medieval times: historically correct (or congruent) medieval cities that you can freeroam and platform. Something you don't expect from a big 3rd party. They seem to be struggling a bit in pulling ot off but damn it if I'm not rooting for them to get it right. It'll still be worth it just for the platforming elements.
This latest video is very promosing.

QFT.Glad to see the publishers actually taking risks and funding projects like this. Hopefully this game does well and the publishers start taking more risks.

Wow this game really has alot of HUD.

We've really seen a drop in the amount of on-screen bars/icons etc. so far in this generation so seeing those screenshots really brings back memories of ps1, etc.

Assassin's Creed lets you scale any building, anything that sticks out a few inches you can grab

Looks like you don't need to worry Ody :D

that was really late

Anyway, game looks a lot better than at e3. Jade Raymond redeemed?

I think it's November 13th.

EDIT: Quite a few places have it listed as "November" without a specific date.

The 13th is just a placeholder date for retailers. It is coming out in November, though.

Just watched the footage - game really doesn't look that fun. Barring any amazing reviews, I might just rent this.

It worries me they haven't shown anything about the PS3 version and its suppose to come out in two months?

Either its worse than Double Agent or they have an agreement with Microsoft. Demonstration during E3 and TGS posters are Microsoft template ones.

I'll be picking it up, we need to see more risks being taken. I wish they kept in the more realistic health/fight system though. Needs to been risking getting involved in such fights with guards to place more on the 'in plain sight' stealth and perhaps forcing you to run during some situations.
