Assassin's Creed: Liberation Trailer (Gamescom)

Some animation are so and so but in general this game looks great
I'm glad ubisoft is taking the vita seriously

Yeah, animations are a little off, but it looks better than it does in that trailer. Def gonna get this, though may have to wait a bit after getting ACIII.

Those cam gameplay footages rekindled my hype. I wasn't sure if it'd look good in unscripted demos of actual gameplay, but it does.

so ubi sofia known for good things or not so good things? serious question.

AC3 Lib looks good, hope it plays good and stays good.

They made nothing but ports for a long time and then made Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars, which came out in March of 2011. Shadow Wars is supposed to be quite good.

So that means they've had from about the beginning of 2011 (assuming Shadow Wars had a month or so between completion and going retail) until holiday 2012 where they've been fully devoted to AC3:L, not quite two full years.

Have their ports been successful?

Looks choppy during cutscenes but smoother during gameplay. I also like how the camera is closer compared to the mainline titles.

Some info on the new "persona system".

Another new addition to Liberation is the concept of a “persona system”. Under this system, Aveline can be in one of three disguises—an assassin, a servant, and an aristocrat. Each one functions differently.

In her assassin guise, Aveline is adept at combat, jumping across roofs, and so on. The downside is that she sticks out like a sore thumb, causes fear wherever she goes, and soldiers attack her on sight. In contrast, the servant guise allows her to blend in with the masses of New Orleans’ underprivileged society. She can mingle with cleaners, dock workers and other low-class workers without anyone raising an eyebrow, but is lightly-armoured and can’t take a beating.

Finally, the aristocrat guise is her public face, or her “Bruce Wayne” persona, if you want to look at it that way. She was raised by her father’s wealth, and this is how society at large sees and knows her. She’s charming, beautiful and influential, and can use these qualities to simply bypass a lot of the obstacles that would otherwise stand in her way. In this guise, she carries a parasol gun, which is a one-shot stealth weapon, but can’t run or fight.

Siliconera

The game is looking great. Hope they work out the few kinks it has (some framerate issues and incomplete animations here and there).

I'm glad that Ubisoft Sofia is putting this much effort into the game. It's certainly more interesting than III at this point. I wonder if Liberation was a concept that was floating around for a while and/or was scrapped before the Vita came into the picture but picked up again when development of a Vita title began.

I think they feel like they can afford to experiment a bit more in this title than AC3. The latter is a 700 people quadruple-A project, if anything goes wrong there they are fucked.

Well Ubisoft probably forgot they even owned a studio in Sofia so they were like, "Well we might as well try making an Assassin's Creed game!" They have been working as a team of 12 and 1 sheep for six years on this game (meanwhile AC has become premiere AfT genre standard bearer). Then Ubisoft rediscovered them when they noticed one of their email servers was getting full and thus this game was announced for Vita.
