Assassin's Creed Syndicate – Story Trailer

Wonder if Arthur Conan Doyle will be in this. He'd only be 10 in 1868 but I imagine the game will take place over a larger time span since Jack the Ripper was on the scene during 1888.

Assassin's Creed by way of Guy Ritchie and Gangs of New York.

I really... really.. really... really... hope they nail the narrative this time. Unity was such a fucking disappointment in that regard.

You don't say ...

Unity was a narrative disaster... and it hurts even more because it came after Black Flag...

Just compare Dead Kings and Freedom's cry FFS ...

They should make more games where you play as a Templar if the really want to carry on the franchise. Or maybe some third less self righteous faction. This just seems old and tired.

Really getting sick of the fact that press have apparently played the game on PS4 but no one can say if its 1080p or have asked Ubisoft if they can at least be transparant and say if they improved the engine.

Improving the engine and aiming for 900p are not mutually exclusive.

Considering the visible visual cut-backs I'd be surprised if the PS4 can't run this at 1080p/30fps.

It's weird how I think Unity looks more impressive.

It isn't weird.

Unity performed horribly, and Syndicate (from what I've seen) performs a lot more admirably. It's clear they've toned down the graphical effects to make it run a lot better.

I think it shapes up well. The facial animations on the main characters seem like a notable downgrade, which is weird, because that I'd imagine that's more of a technology thing that a graphically intensive one.

Great trailer. Also after Witcher 3 my definition of "broken" is very different. Even Unity wasn't that bad.

Are you talking console? Because that game was not broken. Maybe had frame rate issues, and some bugs, but a majority got patches and the frame rate is noticeable only in certain area's where a lot of effects are going on like the Marsh area.

Unity was a broken mess, and looked amazing. Witcher 3 had some quest bugs, frame rate issues but nothing that detracted from you enjoying the game.

UNITY ran like garabge and had some of the most hilarious bugs Iv seen in a AAA game.

Still, it would be nice if developers could, you know, just be honest about the resolution their games are hitting. Maybe I'm the only one, but I will not buy a PS4 game if it is not native 1080p. If games like Witcher, Batman and Uncharted can hit that resolution, I'm sure all other games can as well.

In the end this is the right choice, there's no point pushing tech if those consoles can't keep up. In addition the game looks very nice still, and there will probably be PC improvements anyway like in many Ubisoft games.

Each game is different and has different performance profiles. Just because the PS4 can run UC4 at 1080p does not mean it can run Syndicate because the latter has quite a lot going on, in terms of geometry/AI, texture work etc..
That said I expect Syndicate to be 1080p on PS4, I don't think they would have visibly toned down the visuals if they were still aiming for 900p.
