This Ubi blog post from August 26th 2015 says:

There will be no locks on the game as far as framerate and resolution goes and the recommended system requirements will target 1080p and 30 FPS.

nice to see ps4 controller there. specs are lower than unity? game just doesnt seem to be up there in the same caliber in terms of quality and details.

besides the technical issues with unity, it was an amazingly detailed world that i enjoyed a lot.

Unity's specs for comparison.

Do they say what "Recommended" should expect? I really wish more sysreqs would list exactly what experience they're talking about. With a 970 for Recommended I'm assuming that means 1080/60 with most things on High, if Unity was anything to go by.

Good about HBAO+ tho

I remember reading a while ago on the same Ubi Blog that the PC recommended specs would be targeting 1080p and 30fps. Not sure if that's changed.

I'm having trouble deciding if I should buy syndicate on ps4 or wait for the pc version.

I'm going to Vegas for a week starting saturday. My wife has some medical continuing education credits and there's a huge conference there. Her work pays for it so it's free for us.

The problem is I don't gamble and I really don't drink much and I'm going to bored as shit for 10 hours a day while she's in her conferences and I don't have a game to play.

Sorry for the blog, I'm just thinking out loud.

Are we getting our tessellation with this one?

My crystal ball says no.

I'll gladly trade that for HBAO+.

Anyway, the recommended specs are a bit strange but I suppose a 770 should be listed and not a 760 if they're aiming for 30fps.
30fps at what settings ? Highish probably.

Also, this is nice :
Controller Support
Supports Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PS4 controllers

Gotta say I like that they are more communicative with their PC versions.

Compared to Unity, it's the same RAM requirements and a bit lower GPU (especially for minimum), the engine being known it's no surprise they have optimized better

Huh. Unless this has some optimisation issues then a 970 with a food processor should be able to net you 1080/60. I was pretty much constantly at that in Unity with everything on High and HBAO+ (but no PCSS and just FXAA)

High End PC's
Customize Controls - Customize the game controls for Mouse & Keyboard input

Only for high end PCs ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Would I be able to do 1080p60 on my i7 2600k and 970?

People always ask this question but there is no way we can tell that now.

I could pull off awful close to a very stable 60fps on my 970 in Unity (with PCSS and MSAA disabled) , so it's possible (but I would not make any promise) that Syndicate runs about as well or better depending on the scene.

It's reasonable to assume that if your PC could run Unity effortlessly Syndicate will not be a challenge.

Found the blog post, updated the OP. They do say 1080/30. They could just be covering their own asses though considering the shitstorm Unity was.

I didn't play Unity on PC which is why I was asking. Thanks for the info.

That was only my experience though, I do not pretend that Syndicate will be an easy game to run at 60fps even with a few settings left on the sideline.

You don't need me to tell you that it's always better to wait a few days to gather impressions before purchasing a game on PC.

Arkham Knight jurisprudence.

Does support for G-sync monitors really needs to be a bullet point? lol

Auto-switching UI is great though, especially for folks that use a PS4 pad. Should be mandatory in every game.

Everything on max I would presume.

I don't think so, otherwise a more powerful GPU would have been listed.
PCSS is VERY expensive.

The only game I can enable it and keep a relatively stable 60fps is Black Flag, every other game I tested it destroys my framerate.

I have to admit they look very high quality but shadows are not at the top of my priority list when it comes to bells and whistles.

these Recommended specs are wrong most of the time anyway. What are the settings ? if they are like 16x AA or something ofcourse you need a powerful pc but turn that stuff down a little. Maybe shadows on medium ( dont notice them anyway) and you are good to go on a good not high end pc.

it`s always funny when some " pros" say well with your pc it`s medium settings at best... BULL*!

HBAO+ support is all I needed to hear.

I wouldn't say system requirements lists are wrong; rather, it's that they're practically meaningless without clarification as there's no standard defining what "minimum" and "recommended" should actually mean. Bethesda has said that Fallout 4's recommended requirements assume a resolution of 1080p, but that's it. That little tidbit of info is slightly better than nothing, but it doesn't offer anything in the way of insight given the presence of various graphics options to tweak. 1080p with medium settings? 1080p with "max" settings? Who knows.

a 760 or a 970? huh?

Yep, one of these things are not like the other. Probably meant 960.

Most AC games you can turn off the "exclusive" stuff and gain a massive performance increase anyway. All depends if you prefer image quality or fps.

I am curious... how does one get a PS4 controller to work wirelessly in Windows 10?

Super easy actually. Go into Bluetooth settings, hold down Share and PS button til it starts blinking, then pair.

Once paired, I assume Ubi's software takes it from there.

It may also require the steamlink which can pair with the ps4 controller.

wait, you can use the PS4 Controller with Win10? didnt upgrade yet because it didnt work when win10 was released. No need for inputmapper?

I know that, it's not like I'm new to this PC gaming thing. However, you assumed that those specs aimed for "max" at 30fps unless I got that wrong, I mean it's not impossible but unlikely in my opinion.

If a single 280x / 770 / 960 can run the game with every settings engaged (without MSAA, let us be realistic) at a stable 30fps at 1080p I'll be impressed.

G-Sync support is a special feature now?

It doesn't work with every game despite being a hardware-based solution. Edit: I misremembered slightly. Some games play up a bit when G-Sync is enabled:

Q: Does NVIDIA G-SYNC work for all games?
A: NVIDIA G-SYNC works with all games. However, we have found some games that do not behave well and for those, we recommend that users take advantage of our control panel’s ability to disable G-SYNC per game. Games that NVIDIA discovers that have trouble with G-SYNC will be disabled by default in our driver.

Ironically, I can max out Unity at 1080p/60 fps easily with my 980 ti but I definitely can't max out Black Flag. It plummets at 20+ fps when I try to max it out. Or even lower when I activate PhysX.

the recommended system requirements will target 1080p and 30 FPS

3770 + GTX 970 (4 GB VRAM) + 8 GB DDR3 =/= 1080p 30 fps

something doesn't add up here

a lot of recent drivers have been almost as broken regarding PhysX as the coding of such feature in Black Flag

Interesting. I've been considering jumping in on Unity and wondered what it would take to maintain a solid 1080p at 60fps. Are you saying you can achieve this with your 980Ti at full max settings? I was under the impression I'd at least have to drop a few settings.

You're thinking of max settings. recommended often targets medium setting.

I could run Unity mostly maxed at 60fps (2500K+970), so with the reduced pedestrians I think Syndicate will run well. Now if only the gameplay wasn't the same old boring shit. But I will still get this for the London.

Physx is too taxing in AC4, the visual return is not significant I would say but it's better to turn it off.

Hmm, haven't had any issue yet.

I got my wires crossed a bit -- it's not that G-Sync doesn't work but rather some games exhibit strange behaviour when G-Sync is disabled. From Nvidia's own FAQ:

You have to settle to FXAA though, AA is broken in this game. TXAA in particular, it's not even efficient.
