So I just finished a mission, my saved file said 15% completion. The mission was the one

When all of a sudden my PC bluescreens... My SATA cable connecting my drive just died. Luckily I have a replacement at hand. I plug it in. PC boots up weirdly. I launch the game... but no dice . It's starting back from the start.

My question is: is there anyone here on GAF with a saved file with more or less 15% completion or on that mission?

My first save got corrupted as well but it was due to a crash of the program. Unfortunately you're out of luck. Did you try deleting the save folder and having it sync from uPlay? Since it happened to me I've been making manual backups just in case.

Maybe a bit un-related, but my AC Unity Companion App decided to reset all my progress last night. Only reason I was using it was to unlock the chests in game, but it seems more of a hassle than it's worth.

Seems like a bit of an understatement if it reset all your progress ... Did you at least have a backup? It boggles my mind that the inherent uplay bugs causing corruption of save files are not enough for Ubi. They decide add useless features meant to drive people to their micro-transaction business, but don't care that this functionality adds even more ways to destroy save files.

Yeah I knew it was the cable because after the BOD windows wouldn't boot. It was looking for the drive but couln't find it. So after replacing the cable everything was fine xD

Sorry to double bump but I just lost my progress on PS4 also. I tried using the PS+ cloud save file from a couple days ago and it won't load either. No errors or anything, just acts as if I have never played the game.

I was about 15 hours into it. I'm not starting over. I'll just watch the rest on Youtube.

I've had multiple uplay PC titles saves corrupt due to poorly timed crashes. I'm at the point now that I quit out and copy my game saves about once an hour or whenever I exit.

I haven't had that issue, but Game Save Manger will allow you to automatically backup saves on a schedule. Then you don't need to drop out of game.
