Surprised how well Series S performs. Shadow quality is on another level on Series X and looks to be perfectly locked at 60fps.

That true 4K on Series X đź‘€

Crazy to expect anything other that this. They are all using the same api on more and more advanced hardware. Series x king of the bunch offcourse (with a wide margin)... what everybody is really curious about is the series x stand off with ps5. ps4 will run 30@1080 (as allways) and pro dynamic 4k @30 just like one x. we don't need videos' about that. maybe to see if ps4 version have screen tear as bad as xbox has.

Pro is 1440p dynamic in this game. Series S targets the same resolution too, I believe. Comparison between Pro and Series S will be interesting.

Series S targets 30? CPU is taking a nap. Doesn't seem like optimal use of the hardware characteristics.

Series X lookin good, it doesn't matter much that it's not native 4K, although too bad for that one guy who was excited to play it specifically at native 4K, only on Xbox.

I dont really understand this though, as I have played plenty of 60FPS games on my current TV (4k samsung HDR10) with no tearing at all?
Have you tried playing Watch Dogs Legion or even Watch Dogs 2 on PS4? These games have adaptive vsync.

SX performs like a BOSS. Double the fps and improvements everywhere

Shadow quality on SX is on another level. I keep seeing people talking about screen tearing and frame drops, but in this video the graph shows a perfect 60fps with no hitches, I don't get it.

they need to drop 1440p on series S to 1080p and up the fps to 60 instead.
You will not double the frame rate by going from 1440P to 1080P. 60 FPS is more demanding, it will hit XSS's rasterization particularly hard. 900P or dynamic 1080-800P should be possible.

No tear here on the XSX connected to an LG OLED, likely due to VRR though. It's nice looking.
There's no tearing on the XSX version in the video, or the Series S version. Tearing is only in the One and One X versions.

not sure why they are running an uncapped frame rate on the One and One X when they clearly can not hit more than like 35fps, and doing so introduces like 50% tearing. By the looks of it when it sits at 30fps there's no tearing, so why not just lock it there? Bizarre decision by the devs.

The Series X has bad tearing all over the place.

Time stamp? Tears are a vertical line in the graph. I didn't see a single one.

edit: just went through entire gameplay sections again, as I said there's not a single screen tear or dropped frame on either series S or X. Looking forward to your reply lol.

Maybe not in the video, but actual gamers are having a nightmare with it. It has tearing literally everywhere, its atrocious tbh, especially on such a beast hardware.
yeh nah im not gonna believe that when there's literal video evidence right here of there being zero frame drops or tearing.

I'm sure the people saying that definitely have Xbox consoles. No evidence = not true.

I have a series X in front of me, I could easily record footage of the tearing. You could also visit the reddit, or google this, but you wont because you just want to be a mug on a forum

Ill just leave this here for you so you can stop saying things that make you look stupid

So why does this digital foundry video have literally zero screen tearing or frame rate drops?

Looks like a current gen game, I guess 60fps is nice?

I believe John from DF said on Twitter that using VRR eliminates the tearing and helps smooth out the frame rate. Perhaps their footage is using it.

Thats exactly what it is but too many clowns in this thread think DF is standard and everyone has the same tech as them. A quick glance at reddit and other forums is all it takes. I would actually record it myself but I'm not wasting my time with that just to prove a point to a few plebs on a forum.

That's not how VRR works. VRR doesn't force it to output at 60fps, it displays every frame when the gpu puts them out. If it wasn't 60fps it wouldn't be 60fps on the graph.

There's literal minutes of scenes that would stress the game the most and there's zero tearing and frame drops. We can see that, the video is in the OP.
