Atari Arcade Duo Powered Joystick (iOS)

Look's like the iCade already has competition on its way. Atari are now launching their own Joystick for Atari games, no more fiddling around on the touchscreen trying to use badly implemented control schemes.

Oh shit, son, that looks sick.

Now it has to be compatible with all iOS games to be worth the expense.

Reminds me of the old LED Scramble/Pac-Man/Space Invaders knockoffs, actually.

Yeah, this thing.

Make a dual shock type addon instead and handhelds are obsolete.
:P

this. Why are these all dock type affairs? Dual shock via bluetooth, plus airplay via appleTV to play on your TV when you want to

Really surprised apple doesn't push an official pad out, it'd get rid of the one big issue with gaming on ipod/phone/pad - lack of buttons.

They should have made a trackball instead (or in addition to the joystick). It would've been so much more appropriate, since the arcade versions of Missile Command and Centipede used a trackball.

Is this really "Atari" (read: Infrogrames) or just another licensed afterthought like the upcoming "Atari" Flashback 3?

That's just a shitty rip-off of the iCade:

I'm more excited by the iControlPad:

I like the idea of using the stand-alone controller configuration to play games on my iPad.
