I only know that it's been there since at least Atelier Iris (1). I love it.I started the series with Totori and stopped at every barrel for a ~baluluelu~. Highly delightful, but is there a deeper meaning behind it? Some kind of inside joke?

I started with Rorona and there's no explanation given there too. Guess it must be linked to one of their old PS1 games.
I learned the reason a while ago, but I'm not quite sure I remember correctly.
I think it has to do with the creators of the Atelier series thinking it was funny that the standard behavior from an RPG player is to check every box, barrel, vase, etc. for items and that they would put that there as a surprise since they didn't put in items in there.
Then it just became a tradition... or something like that.
^Seriously. LE T-shirts are the worst, especially since they're typically several times my size. They don't give an option for a shirt cut for women either, so they feel even bulkier.
Huh. Is that why the plat is apparently a little easier from Rorona's from what I've been hearing? I haven't dipped into Totori yet, but a lot of the positive things I've read on GAF and positive answers to my questions make me look forward to playing it.
Only NISA could look at the time of a big release and go "pft, who cares about that." Unless they think a week is enough buffer from Diablo III.
Admittedly you're probably right, more likely it has a larger impact on how many actually play it right away or not.I really doubt Diablo 3 will have any meaningful affect on Atelier Meruru's sales.
I have to admit it's something of a surprise there. I figured it'd be more likely they'd go for Atelier art and THAT isn't something I'd want to wear outside, but barrel'd just seem like a weird funny shirt except to a few people who know (well, guess it'd STILL be a weird funny shirt, just one they get). I still probably wouldn't go outside with it on though. The first video-game reference t-shirt I'd be willing to wear outside.
Hmm, that's not really why the Platinum is easier per se. They just made it a lot easier with the way they handle the relationship points compared to Rorona. This makes it really, really easy to control which endings you get (especially since there's no more Trust system). Also, since the trophies are only linked to events CGs rather than also involving things like beating bonus bosses, finding all items and monsters, etc, that makes it a ton less troublesome as well (though I practically did that anyway before I got my Platinum).Huh. I would have gotten it faster too, if it wasn't for the NISA shipping delay! >\Volcynika said:Rarutos platinum'd it pretty quickly after the NA release, I was pretty surprised.
To be exact, it's been in the series since the first game! Atelier Marie. I have confirmed this myself!Durante said:I only know that it's been there since at least Atelier Iris (1). I love it.
I got LE for rorona and totori, so I will be getting LE for meruru as well. But I can't find it on Amazon..
It's not going to be on Amazon actually. It's an NISA Store Exclusive, guess I should add that to the OP...
Why does every bonus shirt assumes the customer is a fat otaku? I can never wear those shirts!
I assume it's better too large than too small... They probably only have one size to simplify packaging and whatnot. They are a small company, after all. At least it's not an XL like some other t-shirt bonuses...Why does every bonus shirt assumes the customer is a fat otaku? I can never wear those shirts!

Wait how many of these games have they made?
Know their audience.
So is the shirt the exclusive, or the whole LE?
Normally the NISA store stuff is one additional thing on top of the LE
Cause I've got a bunch of gamestop credit I need to spend, and I'm broke right now.

This cracked me up, nice one.Nice, they're offering a free game with the barrel shirt. That's pretty cool!
That's interesting to know, thanks. To be exact, it's been in the series since the first game! Atelier Marie. I have confirmed this myself!
Well, that's as good a reason as any! I decided to play Corpse Party based solely on the "butter up my pooper" scene and never regretted it in the least.I've decided to play this game solely based on the results of my research into what the hell this Barrel thing was about.
To be honest, they usually wind up sending the standard shipping as priority shipping anyway.
All of the times I've picked standard, they sent it priority.
The entire limited edition set for Atelier Meruru is indeed exclusive to our online store.
I am thinking of ordering LE from NISA site, since there was no tax and USPS standard shipping was free.
Does anyone know how long it takes for free standard shipping? or does it depend on which state I live?
I just picked up Atelier Rorona, which was buried under a bunch of old games at Toys R Us today for $7.99. How is the story in the Atelier games? This would be my first Atelier game ever if I decide to open it and play rather than return it. Should I open it???? Help convince me Atelier GAF!
