One of my favourite singleplayer shooters of the decade. Atmosphere and worldbuilding is top notch, gameplay is great fun, visual style is brilliant.
Play with russian VO though, english is too cringey.

BIgly imo. The open world can be a little punishing, but at least it's not boring. I got in the habit of beelining to objectives, and kinda roleplaying the hostile environment. The "dungeons" are among the best FPS SP content we've got in a long time. Refreshing next to western games and it runs like butter.

Yeah and battlestate games is "headquartered" in London. You should probably do some research into why Russian companies like to register their business in places like Cyprus. It's a little more complicated than you seem to think.

Mundfish is Russian, and most of its development is happening there, no need to pretend its not. With that said, I for one wouldn't suggest that people are doing wrong by buying AH. I think that if people want to keep to escapism, they should be allowed to trust that sanctions are working well enough.

To me this idiocy (boycotting AH because Putin bad) would be like boycotting british games because Starmer lets millions of thirldworders into the country who then go and rape british girls, while imprisoning people for tweeting about it. I hate most western european politicians almost as much as I hate Putin for what they are doing. But developers are not the ones making these decisions, so why the fuck punish them.

To be honest it didn't satisfy my immersive sim itch. I felt like it was more an action game with puzzles rather than a game like Prey or Deus Ex which have more depth

While I like the game and it's DLC well enough, that little bit of the statement implies it was always the plan for the first game to have an unfinished ending that they'd add to with DLC, which unless they somehow finish wrapping things up in the final DLC will also end unfinished, and then you'll have to play the sequel to get the actual proper part 2 conclusion to the story, guess it's a good thing they were able to release the DLC as planned, and that it did well enough to make a sequel, otherwise we'd just be sitting here with a game that only finishes 1/3 of it's story.

It's alright. Get it on a sale. It's Temu Bioshock that is compotent and has some interesting ideas.
Avoid the DLC except for the first one and potentially this one, as they are the only two story dlc's and not dogshit. (presumably with the unreleased one)
Basically avoid DLC 2 and 3 for now.
