So today I wasn't able to use Audiogalaxy to listen to music at work today. I just investigated why I wasn't able to login from the desktop tray icon or access the website. The whole shebang is gone.

Audiogalaxy is an app that lets you set your home computer up as basically a server that streams your music collection to your mobile device. It was perfect for what I wanted and needed with such a massive amount of music and wanting constant access to ALL of it at all times. That is gone now.

So. What are my options now? I want a free app that lets me stream music directly from my computer to my smartphone.

Anyone else use(d) Audiogalaxy?

Pff. Audiogalaxy died over a decade ago.

I'm not talking about streaming music from an outside server.

This was a rebranded Audiogalaxy, with no ties to seedy Kazaa like features

I'm not interested in Spotify or Amazon Music as I already have a massive collection of my own music, categorized and organized and tagged as I see fit.

Also, Audiogalaxy would send my stats to Last.FM as well, so my music I listened to on my phone was scrobbled to let Last.FM recommend me new music.

I'm looking for something like that.

I know this isn't what OP wanted, but OG Audiogalaxy was so ahead of its time. Being able to download something to your home computer while at a friend's house just by logging on the site.

Some next level shit right there.

I uploaded the complete collection of mangad-participated 1 Up yours to audiogalaxy. Its fucking dead?

I know they relaunched but you're reopening my wounds by even speaking the name of Audiogalaxy. Much of my playlist still consists of songs I got off of Audiogalaxy. I made sure I never lost them.

You can upload your own music to Amazon Cloud Player, Google Play Music, and Spotify. They'll honor your tags and organization.

Xbox Music should have the song upload plus music recommendation. At least it did when it was called Zune.

And Winamp has its Winamp Remote feature. You can always add last.FM to that.

yeah, I'm not about to upload 150gb+ to a cloud service.

I use Foobar2000, any plugins for that? Haven't bothered with Winamp in probably 8 years and haven't dug around Foobar plugins in probably 5.

Totally forgot that audiogalaxy was dying. Guess I'll start using streamtome again or finally add my music to my plex server and give that a shot.
