Yeah this is the real truth. Vinny is always great but at his best with the West crew, and although Dan and Jason are good, they're no replacement for Vinny and Patrick.
It's no coincidence that PAX, E3 and GOTY is now the best GB content guaranteed. It's when the whole gang is together.
I think it's been a real shot in the arm for the site and the best change that's happened to it. There's such a marked difference in interests and perspectives between east and west, and each crew gets to hone in on their strengths. The east live shows have a more curious, exploratory tone while the west have their own playful thing.

I agree. I mean it's not terrible or anything by any means and I really like the fact that people are able to live their lives while working, but it just feels like Alex belongs on the west coast too
As much as I love austin walker and see that he definitely brought an important viewpoint to that community, I never particularly liked the way his articles were written or the way in which he participated in some aspects the beastcast. I did enjoy what he brought to quicklooks, and other videos though. He really meshed well with everyone on the team.
Will be interesting to see who they get to replace him. I don't meant his in a mean way, but I imagine its going to be another ethnic minority or a female to increase the diversity of the team. I would actually put money on austin being integral to finding a replacement for himself so that the same kind of commentary is brought to the website, as it's something that is needed there. I hope whoever they get brings a similar kind of perspective to the work that they do, and that they immediately mesh with the crew as well as austin walker did.

The new hire of GBeast will be pretty important though, since with only 3 people, someone that doesn't fit could ruin the whole mood. So no pressure or anything there Jeff (or whoever does the hiring)

He just bought a new house so even if they did he'd be by himself which would suck.

yeah on the site it definitely is, but there is Twitter and YouTube stuff that decidedly isn't
it's a small minority, but I've seen some pretty bad stuff

Him getting the guest op-ed thing going is fantastic and his podcasts with the writers was great.
Austin basically did everything Klepek said he wanted to do but either didn't have the vision or management backing to do.
He added an important new, different, and intelligent perspective while giving a platform for others to add their voice as opposed to speaking on their behalf.
