Are you guys trying to be on the wrong side of history like a bunch of right-wingers?

Excessive cynicism is no better than the "hyperbole" which you are decrying.

elmayimbe: Coño! Avatar footage was insane! DDAAYYAAMM!!

Latinoreview: There was a Avatar clip that reminded me of the Abyss, looked like if you were underwater.

firstshowing: Wow just saw 25 minutes of Avatar... And it was phenomenal. This is truly groundbreaking it is unbelievably life-like holy shit!

devincf: AVATAR: a big EVOLUTIONARY step, not revolutionary. #sdcc

fuuuuuuck so many people saying it was actually visually amazing. shit, alot on twitter too. though they could be fakes all made by various GAF members...

Hundreds of tweets just exploded in.

Avatar is going. to be. AMAZING

Avatar clips SO awesome!

I'm a believer! Avatar will rule!

Avatar is absolutely beautiful. Wow.

Holy shit Avatar looks amazing in 3D!

Cameron just brought the game to Del Toro & Jackson. No awesomer Winged Beasts than the ones in #Avatar.

You heathens! I have always believed in Sculli! His prophecies were mere humble truth!!

G4TV: First off: This is like no other movie you have ever seen. It's ambitious, and entirely original, full of digital effects, flawless executed, in an entirely imaginative world.

One guy calls it cartoony and the haters concentrate solely on that while dismissing the countless positive impressions. :lol

No, that isn't telling or anything.

Stephen Johnson: Okay. I just became one of the first 6000 or so people on earth to have seen part of Avatar. I'm still sort of soaking it in, but I'll give you my fresh-off-the-dome impressions:

EDIT: Damn you guys are fast :lol

Tweets:

Showcased about 20 min of Avatar. It's looking pretty flipping tight. Sigorney Weaver is talking now.

OMFG, 25 minutes of AVATAR in gorgeous, bright, HD 3D!!! So freaking amazing!! I cannot wait for December!!!!!!

Avatar, ambitious, unique, incredible. saw 25 mins, terrific

Avatar...just...speechless. Oh my god. I...just...wow...

AVATAR, December 18th. Get in line NOW! You have seen absolutely NOTHING like it...EVER!

i can't help but feel excited....even if the majority of the "reviews" are coming from overanxious fan boys.....i want to believe, therefore i will.

I like all the tweets and whatnot of people pretending they're the first to see this footage. Yeah sorry, it screened in Germany a couple months ago.

Trailer or bust.

firstshowing.net:

3:55PM - Just finished watching a full 25 minutes and holy shit it was phenomenal, just amazing. It does indeed look like nothing you've ever seen, it is groundbreaking, it looks incredible. Every single second in this looked real. And most of it was a completely CGI created universe that does not at all look CGI. It is truly amazing!

The couple bad ones, cause most everyone is probably going to be ecstatic

Bryanjs14: Sooooo Avatar... I don't know if it is for me? I'm not sure what to think yet

metromix: Few live action scenes in Avatar gave way to pure animated fantasy...will it be a bold new vision or too geeky for the mainstream?

LOL fucking one tweet about it being cartoony and people think this thing is going to suck... from E! online too... hahahahahaha

That was the first tweet out. As said, it's mostly praise, however there's a few others out there saying how it's a very well done CG cartoon, so...

Just think it'd be funny if we went through all this waiting and the movie just ends up being another Spirits Within.

darkhorizons: "Avatar" texture rendering and lighting is superb. Non-humanoids still seem CG, blue humans often real enough it looks like actors in makeup

Oh my god, look at all that extreme hyperbole coming out of hundreds of different people with their own individual opinions saying similar things after watching the same footage. They must have all smoked the same strand of weed.

Go back and read the twitters from the surprise premiere of the new Trek movie. They read identical. Fanboys are excited. Good I'm glad it looks good, even the naysayers are saying how good it looks, just not cumming all over the place for it.

Stephen Johnson: As for how it is, honestly, it's hard to say... but it is like everythin Cameron has ever done: Fully and totally committed. it's obvious Cameron has not compromised anything here. This is so utterly and completely his vision. And that kind of committment is the source of all great art.

hehe
