It's inconsistent. Sometimes they work, sometimes not. I've also noticed a couple other sites like Vox have been screwing up today as far as loading images goes, but I have no idea if it's related to this. If it is related, then it's probably a DNS thing and we'll just have to wait to sort itself out.
