Avengers: Infinity War Day One

I don't even see what an Avengers 4 would be without Thanos. They won't have had time to build up a bigger threat than him, as well he's one of the strongest villains in all of Marvel, and it would be weird to just randomly throw another Top Tier Villain in against them with no build up. I suspect Dormammu will obviously be an Avengers bad guy at some point but 4 hits too quickly after 3 imo to be using another huge villain like him without much build up. Strange 2 will probably further establish the character and then the "New Avengers" fight him in Film 5.

They probably changed it from Part 1 and 2 because there will be more to it than just the fight for the Infinity Stones, but I'll be very surprised if Thanos is not a factor in 4.

Avengers 4 is obviously The Great Lakes Avengers. That's the future.

Is there a legal reason why the Netflix characters can't be in the MCU movies?

Simple answer is no. They CAN be, but marvel tv and marvel movies, while in the same shamed universe, are ran by different people, and marvel movie people don't really seem interested.

I absolutely believe that we will see the Defenders get a cameo in one of the Infinity War movies.

I would be absolutely overjoyed if this were to happen.

It won't, though. I need to accept that fact. It was like when I was holding out hope Christopher Eccleston would show up for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary only to end up getting brutally disappointed. Never again.

One wonders if Infinity War was originally written as two parts, but after audiences started to apparently grow weary of the two part formula in recent years (Hunger Games, Divergent), the two Avengers movies were re-written to service more standalone stories.

This was my line of thought.

If you want EVERYONE to turn up for this movie, then you don't want it to be "part 1" where we're expected to be left off w/ a cliffhanger knowing good and well that this will be out on DVD before part 2 hit the following year. Lots of people may just wait for home video, and others probably won't watch it in the theater 15 times dragging new friends to it every single time knowing that it's only "half" a movie.

So even though not a single line of script has changed, they decided to not refer to them a 2 halves of the same movie, but instead 2 stand-alone movies.

I'm expecting the first movie to end w/ a supposed Victory by Thanos in the collection of the stones and the mounting of them into the Gauntlet.
Part 2 will still pick up right after that.

Anything can work if executed properly.

I picture something like:
Cap shouts "Avengers!"
Quick shots of the other heroes turning their heads in his direction.
A close-up shot of Cap with the camera slowly panning inwards.
In a faint voice:"Assemble."
Cue Avenger's theme

I think the best we'll get is in the opening credits to Avengers 4, we will finally get out AoS cameos in the MCU movies where they are cleaning up the rubble in the wake of Thanos' destruction of the Avengers... as they are clearing debris they get a glimpse of Cap's shield. Patriot run over in an attempt to rescue Cap, but realized that he needs more help, seeing as he was only able to free the shield itself. So it he raises the shield in the air and shouts "DEFENDERS ASSEMBLE!!" and now we got our Netflix cameos as well

They can't do this on account of the fact that a couple of Marvel movies will be coming out in the interim between both Avengers films. So that wouldn't make much sense.

Even a few shots in the inevitable final earth assault climax for the Netflix lot would be a major bone to throw. 60 seconds of footage. Just do it. They're all there filming Defenders now.

Fuuuuuu... did not know that Kang was owned by Fox.

They really need to get that FF license back. Galactus and Doom would make great villains in Marvel movies.

Can someone entertain me? I would not mind the Netflix characters but with the the way the universe has been written it's not in their favor. What purpose would the they serve to someone who has only followed the movie outside of just a cameo appearance. Does that do them justice?

I mean think about it AoS has direct relation to events in the films obviously Coulson says it all They show events that are directly and in-directly related to the movies and we have not even heard a peep of them in the films.

I'm hoping for it but just don't see it.

Final stone collection doesn't have to happen on Earth.
he come come wreck Earth first.

and we dont' really have any idea what Ant-Man & the Wasp nor Captain Marvel are about, so I don't see why either of them couldn't be taking place after Thanos has already wrecked most of the hero's on earth/the MCU.
That destruction could be what led to Captain Marvel getting powered up in the first place.

why not? survivors going to get more people to help in the fight with Thanos...Ant-man for some reason wasn't around so at the end of Ant-Man/Wasp, let's say Spider-Man shows up and is like "yo, avengers are dead, please help"

then in Captain Marvel its a mix of origin and then her joining up and becoming somewhat of a leader of the new Avengers team that's hoping to take on Thanos...

obviously not how it would happen but there are definitely ways to make it work since it's just those 2 movies

Haven't we technically already seen Adam Warlock?

His cocoon was in the Thor post credits scene. (And some think it was seen again, open, next to Howard the Duck in Guardians post credits scene.)

I cannot wait to see Tony and the Capt's reaction to goddamn Rocket Raccoon. It's going to be glorious.
