And how many years have we been posting here? I swear it was less frequent when the cloud computing stuff came up last year. Onlive and all that. That's when i first remember seeing the bl/wink.

Couldn't have been less frequent. RubxQub put in extra frames because I wanted the delay to be longer.

EDIT: Been posting since '06, so just on four years.

RE-EDIT: But I only started using this avatar in like '08. Just after my Pokemon DP hype died.
 
I really don't understand tags at all. What is the point of fussing over something so STUPID under your username anyway? Does anyone really care at all? I mean, it's like the Pamelar Anderson of GAF. People pretend to care, but do you really?

It's a big forum, so if you wish to contribute to the discussion, you must do so along with thousands of other voices. People don't like to have thier opinion ignored, so visibility here is at a premium (I know I personally get a little endorphin rush when someone responds to one of my posts). Unfortunately, outside of a few "opinion leader" posters, everyone else kind of gets lost in the blur.

Enter the tag. It's custom, it's unique, sometimes memorable and if it's funny, it'll get you some of that visibility you crave and have people listen to you if only to mock you. It's also a hell of a lot easier to do this than to try to accomplish the same thing with consistently well-thought-out and reasoned posts over the course of a few months or years.

That's my theory anyway.

Sometimes when I see posts like those, I wonder if the person is just saying that because they're hoping to get their own tag.

Well, that certainly clears a few things up. There's still a few fuzzy things about it, but I think I'd rather not know about some of them. I'm a Member, which is just fine with me I guess. I don't think I'm recognizable to really have anything worth mentioning.

With the improper use of indefinite articles like this, you're bound to get some kind of tag relating to grammar eventually. ;)
 
These threads are always funny. Some days you think to yourself "if only I had been blessed with a tag, my mother would finally love me". Then you see the shockers and realise that flying under the radar has some benefits :lol

Yep, I think it's actually better not to have a tag. With the exception of maybe 3 people tops, the tags are meant to insult and humiliate. :lol

After seeing the first trailer for Inglourious Basterds, I questioned whether it might be trying to derive too much pleasure from watching people brutalize Nazis. That's how I got my first and only tag.
 
I will most likely never say anything that'll ever warrent a tag. It's a sad reality indeed. But I'm happy none-the-less. :)

God grant me the right to tell my grandchildren about the day I got my tag. They'll ask me, grandpappy, where ya got yer tag? And I'll reply, 'tis an online message board, laddies, and they'll ask, what's an message board? And I'll be like, it's like them talking spheres, but worse, and they'll nod.

And I guess my tag will never ever change :( I like it but I would have loved something not about hairy penis's.
 
I once copypasted some anal leakage story that was posted way back from some link. Instead, I got hit with the grease instead :|
 
It may just because I am drunk, but somehow this thread has just caused a brain blister that I feel the need to expound upon to alleviate the pressure; where are all the classic GAF posters? I sorely miss White Man, Suerte, Enjoy Bell Woods, etc.

I am now thoroughly depressed by an admittedly meaningless scenario. The internet, y'all.

That's not really fair. Shouldn't we choose a tag for you to promote democracy and a false sense of undeserved merit?
