This is the closet we will get to a true metroid on the switch..

I will definitely pick this up. Will be perfect on the go.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

So glad I held off buying all these Indie titles on Vita, WiiU and Steam last year... Getting portable/console versions with one Switch purchase was worth it.

Let's see if it's as good as people made it out to be.

Has anyone actually listened to the podcast? I'm about halfway through and they're on questions now.

The only thing they've said is - "we're trying to get a physical release so we can have a Switch physical release but, I'm not sure where we're at on that right now honestly"

Will buy!

I just wish people here would stop hyping these things as, "the next coming of ______ franchise." It does a disservice to games like Axiom Verge because while they are a lot of fun, they don't begin to even touch the franchises that inspire them. Let them be their own thing.

I never bought this on XBO/PS4/Wii U so I'm glad it's coming to Switch. I play portable mode mostly so this is great for me.

It's a really damn good game. I beat it on my Vita because it looks gorgeous on the OLED.

Really? So this topic an underhanded way to drum up support.

I scanned through the podcast earlier trying to find confirmation, and that was my impression as well.

Cool, I missed this game on PS4 and Wii U so I'll grab it here
Whaa? Why? I don't get this line of thinking. It's still available on Wii U and PS4, and Vita. Why not just get it now? Then double dip? Also, why is the Switch version all of a sudden more attractive than the other two version? It makes no sense.
Anyway, guess the Switch gets a good Metroid game sooner than we all expected.

The fuck??? What's the deal???
They've decided they want to prioritize other games and use Axiom Verge to stuff the schedule later.

Or maybe they don't want a game on their platform that shows up the Metroid game they'll eventually make.

Because I'm only gonna play it once and a Switch version would let me play both on the go and on the TV. (don't have a Vita) I've waited this long I can wait some more, no big deal.

That can only mean that Metroid Dread is coming to the Switch and they dont want competition, right?

Seeing Dan Adelman call his former employer "douches" is certainly not what I expected to read when entering this thread.

Pretty much this right here. Also, not sure how he's saying they could've had it done for launch, do they even have dev kits?

I've never gone from completely excited to absolutely crushed in a shorter period of time. Wtf Nintendo (if they're really the ones to blame for this), I have this on Steam but I'd definitely double dip for a physical edition :(

Have they tried tweeting Damon Baker? Zeboyd had similar problems getting through until they reached out to Baker directly on twitter.
You know that Dan Adelman is ex-Nintendo? Surely he knows who to talk to.

Edit: thanks to this thread I knew about the Multiverse Edition, releasing in Europe no less. I bought the game digital on Vita so I think I will preorder Wii U version.

I have no idea how the internal structure of Nintendo works.

The fact that he knows people there doesn't necessarily mean he wouldn't get a different answer from different people.

Ugh, Nintendo can be so inept sometimes. Anyway, AV is a great game and deserves to have an even wider release. Maybe Nintendo will get their head out of their asses so we can have it on the Switch.

I'd love for this game to get more visibility on store shelves...

But that fucking Switch tax. If physical is released, are we going to get another $5-15 price hike on even the digital version for the Switch compared to other platforms?

Edit - damn, even the digital version is up in the air.
