Azeroth Choppers - American Choppers in Warcraft? Why Blizzard?!

I never said Blizz should own Dota. You're not even reading what I'm typing. I'm saying:
stitches.png

That kind of shit, should be no more acceptable from Valve than it should be from shitty iphone app devs that rip shit off. You're saying Blizz is 'late' to the game, when Valve basically ripped all of the art concepts wholesale from warcraft 3 and then changed them about as minimally as possible in...50% or more? of the cases. Would you have ripped into Blizzard if they made Counterstrike 2 when counterstrike was still just a mod? and had Gordan Freewoman and Alexis Bance and Blarney as playable characters?

Let's just put Pudge in a swimsuit and everything will be alright. :^)

@TheYanger

Pudge is quite a bit different from a WC3 abomination in both visuals and audio and yet they keep it similar in other ways to remain faithful. I don't really see the problem. You sound about as bitter as Blizzard was when they announced HotS.

Should I be outraged that Blizzard copied the hook idea from Dota? That shit certainly isn't part of WC3 or TFT.

Blizzard has done nothing for the MOBA scene. They didn't care one bit for iteration after iteration of a popular mod. They did nothing when millions played it worldwide. But suddenly Riot/their big daddies rake in the cash, and wooooh, HotS. Which will be a good game. Doesn't change that Blizz did nothing for MOBAs ever and is new on the scene.

Also, thanks for bringing the "Valve bad yet soo loved fanboi ripoff Dota see pictures blah" into the fray. Was waiting for that.

You're right, they did nothing for it, that's why all of these base archetype characters and abilities are from Warcraft 3. What exactly were they supposed to do for it? It was a mod and people were enjoying it. I'm glad you expected to see those kinds of pictures, since they're extremely blatant and always have been. But it's k, Valve can do no wrong with their game while Blizz can do no right with theirs, the most innovative of the entire bunch.

You can't be serious with this. Here's a WoW abomination. 10 years old:
MPlYAb6.jpg

That's a hook on the ground btw. Which they throw at people. It's also in that top left model in the other picture, in his left hand (Cleaver, hand axe, hook). It has ALWAYS been part of the Abomination's kit.

Pudge was only one example, we all know you can find pictures showing the vast majority of the original heroes put into dota being almost complete ripoffs of their WC3 'inspirations'. It's really here nor there, the fact that you guys EXPECT those comparisons to come up is pretty telling as far as how shameless it is. The notion that Blizz' version is a cash grab because LOL ITS BLIZZARD and that Valve essentially saying "Hey we're tired of people buying Warcraft 3 to play Dota, let's just make a Dota that we can have instead" isn't....is absolutely fucking asinine. These are all companies, businesses, in business to make money. I don't fault Valve for making money, but when you come into a wow thread and start shitting on Blizz for fucking dota, you have to realize how foolish you sound. Gabe is not altruistic and Blizz is not evil, get over it.

I dont know why the new meta is to hate Blizzard. They still make awesome games. Sure, D3 had its fair share of problems but they did listen and removed the auction house and introduced an awesome expansion. Starcraft 2 is also great. I dont play multiplayer but the single player missions are all fun and very different from your traditional RTS. Oh and WoW is still the best mmo even after 10 years imo.

This thread, it is nuts.

Hard to believe WoW is so old now. I remember there being rockets and mechanical things for the gnomes but I never liked bikes being in the game. It was a little too much on the nose.

Just one of those things.

No point in arguing on that shit because we clearly won't meet a common ground but...

Here's the thing: I didn't say any of this. I didn't say anything even remotely close.

I don't think Blizzard is evil, I own every single one of their games on Battle.net. I was just flaming you because you seem to have some sort of persecution complex tied to Blizzard and felt the need to flame Dota 2 to defend their honor, and it's hilarious.

Gaben, or his goodwill, has clearly rustled your jimmies.

And yet if you follow the thread, you'll see that entire line of reasoning wasn't in response to a quote to you. I didn't FLAME dota 2 to defend some blizzard honor, I responded to someone who literally said all of the things that I am refuting. Glad to know you're paying attention.

Post #72 is what you're looking for.

Holy shit the nay sayers and the haters towards blizzard. If you don't like there games don't play it. They have done some great work lately like Reaper of Souls that redeemed Diablo 3. And this from WoW? It's just all good fun and MoP is one of there best expansions yet can't wait for Warlords of Dreanor. Also free mount when one of the bikes wins? I am totally ok with this.

Episode 2

More entertaining than I expected. Samwise and Metzen are super cheesy, but if the rest of the show is like this - basically just like any other reality show on tlc or whatever, this could be a fun diversion. I liked this episode. Long as it focuses on the guys making the bikes and not how ridiculously 'M'LADY"ish samwise is we'll be good.

I can't bring myself to watch it... Orange County Choppers began the downfall of the discovery network into it's current incarnation of the Red Neck network...

This show sucks. I love watching behind the scenes videos of Blizzard working their magic, still play World of Warcraft where I collect mounts, I love motorcycles and what goes into customizing them, but this show is nothing about that. It's 95% fabricated drama between the shop dudes and cliché reality show editing. Yes I'm excited for the in-game mount, but so far it's been boring as hell and a poor showcase of this Paul Jr. dude's supposed talents.

WoW is becoming the "Airplane!" of fantasy RPGs/MMOs and TES is not far behind if Kirkbride has his way.

Anyone else still watching this? Episode 5 came out today and I'm liking the direction the bikes are taking.
The Horde bike reminds me of the Gears of War trike they did back on American Chopper. I can't wait to see the sick paint jobs that Nub will eventually put on them.

edit - Here's what it looked like for reference:

Yeah, I liked the one today. The one last week was a snooze. Basically, the episodes that focus on them actually making the bikes are interesting and they both look really cool. Any fake drama bullshit or showing 'the game' for no reason is just boring.

They both look good.

Problem with this is that the winner's side gets that bike for free so even if I thought the Alliance bike was cooler, I'm more motivated to vote for the Horde side as that's where my guys are.

Annoying. I want a "captured Alliance bike".

As someone who has 0 interest in motorcycles, I legimitely found myself liking this web series a lot more than I expected to. There was a ton of unneeded filler, but it was still kind of neat.

I wil maintain the stance the blizzard has not made a good game since WC3.

I seriously don't understand how anyone can say this with a straight face, it legimitely baffles me. Vanilla D3 is the only game of there's I've played that I would consider "meh", and I still ended up getting a good 80 hours out of it, which is about 8x as much as I get out of most games. Blizzard is easily one of the best companies in the business.
