Bad attempts at Attractive Character Design

Lol.

Nah, Cloud's weird stick arms were the first thing anybody would notice when they saw that game at the time. Most of my friends loved the game anyway, but the graphics and specifically his weird design were always strange.

Cow hooves. His hands were cow hooves.

The animations are pretty realistic though...so are you guys saying the mocap actress is really unattractive?

The way she animates is otherworldly.

It would be fine if it was just a screenshot, but something looks very wrong because she looks so realistic yet animates so oddly. It definitely plays tricks on your eyes.

MoH's facial animations are just super creepy in general

Although the receding hairline and single hair swift is odd, this is actually technically impressive work. The mannerisms and facial movements are really well done. i thought i was looking at a movie scene for a second.

There's gotta be someone out there who's got a problem with Nowi (Fire Emblem: Awakening)'s design.
I'm not that person. >.>

I thought fem shep in ME3 was rushed too, instead of creating a new model close to their concept, I think they just use their ingame character creator for it (except for the hair)

If it weren't for Male Shep's voice being far too comical for ME3, I'd 've switched back to him from her in a heartbeat.

I know some of the animations are a little weird but they did a great job with the custscenes, especially the final one.

I'm gonna sort of defend Fortune here. Her skin color is the only problem--but, everyone's skin color in MGS2 was messed up. The whole game was kind of pale, really.

Edit: Woah, I didn't mean that to come out the way it did. I mean that her skin TEXTURE makes her appear strange. The skin doesn't have any texture to it.

The MoH lady looks like some kinda technical marvel, I can't believe the talent put to work there was used for MoH. For the longest time I was wondering why there was a gif of a real lady here. The only thing that looks off to me is where the part in her hairline starts.

She looks more attractive in the UC3 shot...

She looked kinda awful in-game though. I prefer her UC2 render too btw. Easier on the eyes and looks cuter which goes with her personality in the games.

EDIT: WTF is up with those photorealistic cut-scenes. Thought they were taken from real life. Looks impressive as hell.

LOL!

You're edit cracked me up. Don't worry, I got what you meant in the original version. Lol.

Adding to it I'm not sure why she's being included in this thread, nor the little girl. She appears to be the main character's middle aged mother and the girl his young daughter? If you thought that they were intended to be attractive to you that says more about you than anything else.

I get what you mean, but then again, everyone looked really weird in that game haha it bugs me still, like it's an amazing game, but that filter makes me upset lol

The only thing natural about it is the way it moves and the convincing hair and skin. The mouth is off and the eyes are 'dead'. It looks more like an animatronic than an actual human, and that's even with the realistic lighting, mocap/animation, hair, etc.

People rag on the Heavy Rain demo, but that looks more convincing to me than the MoH stuff. It's just incredibly creepy.

Kristen Bell vs. Lucy Stillman

As the ass creed series went on lucy looked like an alien in comparison

edit: if someone has a picture could they please post it as i dont have one

I think one thing that works against the MOH lady and other characters is the fact that despite looking almost photorealistic, you can notice that everything, movement and actions do not appear natural, it's the challenge of animation when working to make everything not look scripted.

You can even see it in her eyes.

Ashely from Mass Effect 3

They tried way too hard to make her look sexy.

Maybe it was natural character progression, though. Ashley was always outspoken, flashy, and racist. I mean--did you see her mascara in ME1? The hot pink suit? Having moved up in the ranks since ME1, maybe she earned the right to wear her hair however she wants, instead of being forced to have a "military cut".

Ashley has always struck me as the kind of person who refuses to sacrifice her looks (or anything else) for her job. She wants to be looked at and she wants to be the commander.

Or maybe I'm just reaching.

Edit: And have you noticed how Ashley's personality is the exact opposite of Kaidan's? Kaidan is super reserved and actually acknowledges his total background role at the end of ME3, whereas Ashley goes for the limelight every time.
