I'm sure you could pre-order, get your code, and then cancel with online orders

Oh, I signed up for that free release day shipping code deal thing. Oh well hopefully they send me a code. If not I'll just wait till I have money to get it off Steam.

I don't think that's fair to DICE. Besides, I never buy used games.

But EA has shown that first-month sales is really important to them (it's the reason I'm having a hard time finding somewhere to buy the non-LE version of BF:BC2) so waiting a month or two will be my way of protesting this stupid Gamespot agreement.

If you dont want to get the LE because the cover wasnt as cool they changed it to the exact same cover as the regular edition.

Cool, that's a great move on EA's part because the LE had lame art, but I still don't want to have pre-unlocked unlocks.

It was stated a couple pages back that as soon as you receive the pre-order item you can't return the product.

umm yeah just saw that 7min vid in HD, that's the 360 version, and it looks just like that first shot in that scene. Obviously the resolution isn't that high and it's first person. Looks amazing and according to the ign preview, runs at a solid smooth framerate not far behind mw2 (not sure if this means solid 30 or above 30fps...)
 
The more I see of this game the more I wish it had Halo 3 style replays. So many epic moments, so many things that need to be captured.
 
I just hope the two console versions are close to equal. I really don't want to renew Live, and already have lots of friends to play with from the beta. Really wish I was playing this in 3d with insane PC graphics though.

I hope the console versions take full advantage of each console, if that means AA on the 360 and non on the ps3 then so be it. I just want both consoles to be pushed as hard as they can and whatever version looks best I will buy.

I hate when developers gimp one version because they don't want to alienate the other side.

M1 garand, m93 Beretta, m14 ebr, g3, thompson, m1911.

Those are the new guns, not much I know but there is DLC, hopefully the DLC has more weapon accessories though, we are all set on guns we just need more accessories for them. The acog and red dot wont cut it.

BF 1943 weapons and a couple of guns from BF2, wtf? Is that it? Man I thought all those guns in the beta were place holders, but to reuse all of the same guns with a exceptions of the few guns from other BFs is dissapointing.

I just tried the code on the US EA store and I can confirm it doesn't work. Oh well, you got a nice deal.

Play have the codes, I'm waiting for mine to be sent so I can cancel and order from Game for the cheaper price, reward points and limited edition. Sorry Play.

DICE is doing proper Beta testing with this upcoming Beta. There will be two Betas that will occur in the next month: a Combat Testing Beta and a pre-order Beta. The Combat Testing Beta is currently closed I believe, so the only way to get into the Beta right now is by pre-ordering or following twitter to obtain free Beta keys.

The beta had like 300,000 players, and while you could pre-order to get a code, it wasn't the only way of getting one.
 
I'm a bit confused about the pre order beta access, is it only over steam or any LE pre-order? I can order the pc version for £10 less at game but no mention of a closed beta of any kind.
 
I was a bit saddened watching the giant bomb quick look of this beta. The guy got sniped/killed by a tank out of nowhere all the time. It didn't look like a fun experience.

That shouldn't be happening if you know the map and are paying attention to your surroundings.

ie. Knowing possible sniper spots and staying in cover. Sprinting from cover to cover. Just being aware of when tanks are around and if they're engaged with another tank should keep you from getting blown up.

Gerstmann is bad, doesn't even pay attention to the direction indicator when he's getting shot
