What this means is that the 360 fans, after hearing about this, are not going to want to purchase Bad Company 2, nor will they purchase any of DICE's games. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but DICE has alienated an entire market with this move.

DICE, publicly apologize and cancel the Bad Company 2 beta for PS3 or you can kiss your business goodbye.

Definitely. MS is doing really well because they spent money to get things like this. Its good that Sony is finally starting to do the same.

i can wait for the demo. im no longer a fileplanet subscriber or anything so i never get into betas anymore.

i just wanna see how the improved engine performs. i thought it was great on the first one, even if there was some aliasing and oddities.

This. Especially considering the shitty launches of 1943, BC Beta, BC Demo, and BC Final game on Xbox 360. All games had unplayable Multiplayer for a while thanks to DICE's servers. No 360 Beta too is really dumb.

All BF Console games have had dedicated servers.
 
Can't wait to see how well this runs on PC.

If they can show me the awesomeness with the beta in Dec, I prob won't be picking up MW2.
 
I'm more excited for BF:BC2 than any other upcoming game (The Last Guardian being the sole exception) but there's no way I'm giving GameStop a cent of my money so hopefully I'll be able to snag one of the IGN/Gamespot codes.
 
Sony and EA got something going on :lol :lol ...I notices this year EA partner with Sony instead of Microsoft for EA SPORTS™ Challenge Series 2009 and for the FIFA Interactive World Cup ...:lol :lol :lol
 
My sources tells me this one is pretty fun to play on PC :)
 
Will try the PC open beta in dec, hope it's good. I'm still fairly skeptical about it, i don't see anything that's really exciting about it, apart from the fact that it OMG uses dedicated servers.:lol

unless you are considering the PC beta, the PS3 is the only console beta. We can go around in circles, and we do in every 360 "Exclusive" thread where people consider the PC a console...

I don't have a PS3, and I'm an avid BC1 player, but I'll take the high road here and say I'm glad for Sony. It's about damn time they got something like this over M$, also shows that hey, DICE actually gives a shit about the PS3 version :)

It's pretty low for them to want the people who are actually going to buy the game to test it? I know this isn't the way most shooter betas have been done, but it makes sense to me.

I think people just see the words "Gamestop", "Pre-Order", and "Exclusive" in a sentence these days and automatically go into rage mode. Can't say I blame you, but still :D Besides, the "exclusivity" of the beta is timed. Both the PC and the 360 will eventually get betas, so just be patient.

the beta is exclusive (console), the 360 will receive a DEMO later.

I think developers are starting to realize that "pretending" like PS3 version of a game is the definitive version, or was the focus the entire time leads to much bigger sales on the PS3. This doesn't happen with the xbox versions of games, and xbox games sales aren't affected by this.

Just look at how Batman AA sold on the PS3, both the first month and the second. It was probably a mix of exclusive content and the developer saying it was their focus.
