I won't say much, I'm just going to say that the mics are FUCKING FIXED!!!!

I would even rate the quality better than COD 4-5-6.

Man, NDA makes me sad. Perhaps I should pay a little more attention to those legal agreements.

So I dunno, should we collect PSN tags in here?

Aside from not being able to rank up, I'm having loads of fun. Looks great, now I only need to get used to the PS3 controller, my hands are cramped to hell.

ouch, i had a really long set of impressions typed up, then when i hit submit, the thread was closed. i know it's a closed beta, but i didn't read anything about not discussing it, like some betas say... oh well, ya win some, ya lose some.

Vader "Nooooooooooooooooo"

Is there really an NDA on something that is publicly available? I think the age of "NDA" fear on public beta's that are given away for stuff like this is pretty much gone.

Private beta's, on the other hand (you know, being hand picked in a very small group by a developer) that's another story. You have nothing to worry about, I'm pretty sure you can talk as freely as you want without fear of any consequence.

So the impression thread was locked. Does this mean there's an NDA I wasn't aware of?

Theres no strict NDA they just want people who leave feedback to leave it where they read it, on the forum they set up for the beta, not on some random blog somewhere.

The whole idea of a beta is to give them fedback and they want that feedback in a certain place.

I think I have an EU code for someone. I am not sure if it works, I used a US from Fileplanet, so here it is:
78N6-32BK-TFPJ

Edit: Looks like its been used up.

I know the beta started today but, when does it end?

I'll be picking up a PS3 next week and I think I'm actually more excited to check out this beta than play MW2! :lol

I guess I'll have to step foot into my local soul-sucking gamestop and preorder it since that seems to be the easiest way to get a code. I can't wait!

XMB information says 2/28/2010.

Thank god an actual NDA, maybe some actual testing will get done instead of nitpicking about visuals and a beta being treated as an actual test and not a demo.

I have a US Beta code at home... if someone wants it... its not going to be free ^__^

While I'm here I will say the game is really fun. It is and has always been a different beast than COD but this is what makes BF the better game. As fun as ever and giving me BF2 vibes. Beta or not this has the game play down pretty good. No issues on PS3, lag factor in 5 games was a non issue. Visuals like nicer thanks to the ridding of the grain filter. And PS3 mics work flawlessly!!

That's all I can really say, it's FUN.

Ok so I got a PS3, code. Does any know how the PC version will be distributed? I'm in the official forums, and don't see anything.

Why was the impressions thread closed? Yes, it's a closed beta, but I don't remember agreeing to any NDA.

edit: someone above seems to mention an NDA. I guess I just have lousy memory. =\

Loving the new sniper rifles, they finally take skill to use.

Love the kill Cams reminds me of the Team Fortress killer cam.

The new damage system works great. Loving this game so much its a shame March is so far away.

I read there's bullet drop now... you've always had to lead your targets in BFBC, but they didn't have bullet drop on the sniper rifles.

Is that what you mean by it being more challenging?

Yep, voice chat is quality is excellent.

Had some great games then with Das-J, Cagen, TTP.

Played a match with people on my team that were clueless.

Still had a blast checking things out. I love the feedback on weapons now, and especially the feedback from throwing a few bullets into a guy. Gonna go play more now.

Needs a tiny bit more drop but its still good. None of that instant hitting bullets of cod mw2 and hl 1.

I've always loved BC sniping because it takes skill to drop a guy hauling ass through a distant field. You have to lead them perfectly... having the crosshairs quite a ways ahead of them. Hard but really satisfying. They were only missing bullet drop. In that gif it's obviously there now, but I agree, seems a little muted (especially firing uphill). Honestly, though... I'm happy it's there at all. A lot of players don't get the concept and when a game has anything close to projectile physics they freak out and blame the "inaccurate" weapons.

I saw that in BiA and Gearbox eventually caved to those demands and changed the game.

Bullet drop and spread; all good in my books.

Same thing applies to tanks, shells don't go in some magical straight line.

You can't scrub it up MW style with the mounted MGs.

Edit - how the hell do I pick up medkits and ammo? I thought you just walk over them but they're still there as if nothing happened.

nvm... TTP answered better.

You just walk by them. The reason they are still there is cos they act as a temporary source of health/ammo. Not sure if the time the stay on the ground depends on an actual countdown or on the amount of ammo/health delivered.

I get a lot of points by placing an ammo box amid a group of camping snipers :P
