You just walk by them. The reason they are still there is cos they act as a temporary source of health/ammo. Not sure if the time the stay on the ground depends on an actual countdown or on the amount of ammo/health delivered.

I get a lot of points by placing an ammo box amid a group of camping snipers :P

Lol fuck, thanks. I couldn't remember how they worked in BFBC1, I thought they disappeared as soon as they were used.

Never played BFBC1, but yeah, they DO NOT disappear in BFBC2 when you "use" them.
I love to go Assault, drop an ammo box nearby and go happy trigger with the grenade launcher :D You hear a metallic sound effect when fresh ammo is absorbed from a nearby box. It happens like once every 10 or 15 secs and the guy that delivered it gets XP every time this happens

That's awesome. First time someone tossed me a med pack I spent a minute trying to figure out how to pick it up :lol

it seems to be a little of both. i dropped a health by a squad of people, and it wasn't there when i checked again in a minute, and i dropped one in the middle of nowhere and it was still there even after i died a couple of times

What's more awesome is hearing people actually telling you they have just dropped an ammo or health box nearby. This happens automatically. But...

You can even call people manually by pressing select on them. I'm not totally sure about how it works but this is what I think it happens:

If you have dropped ammo (or simply are an Assault, not sure), you can call people over ("Hey, you need ammo?", or something like that). If you are not an Assault and you press select on an Assault teammate he goes like "Hey, I need ammo!". Same with Medic.

I also think when you are low on ammo, an ammo icon blinks on top of Assault teammates I think so you can easily identify them and call them over with Select. Either that, or the blinking ammo icon refers to people in need of ammo. Not sure. Need to investigate more.

So awesome anyway.

Too bad about the jaggies :(

Yep. It's not even a contest.

You shut your filthy whore mouth.

I Played this morning for a game or two, and it's fun. I didn't really have an idea of what to do aside from blow the objectives up, but I really liked it.

I'm loving it.

And I don't even notice the jaggies when I'm running behind a fence with bullets careening everywhere as I then fall from a sprint into a crouch to rail a guy with a nade.

Yeah, that's the only instance you dont notice them.

This blows, I went yesterday to Gamestop to pick up a beta code voucher and they didn't have, they told me to check tomorrow (today). When I went today, they said that they don't know when they'll be receiving any more vouchers..... This sucks ass I was really looking forward to playing this. Anybody have a US voucher or know of a way to get one. Thanks.

I should really pay attention as to when the PC beta is open. I was talking to a Mirror's Edge designer and he said that everyone at work had of course been playing the Battlefield beta.

When he signed off he told me to "stay frosty" though. Apparently that phrase is more common than I thought? :lol

Random side note, it was neat to discover he was a Super Mario/Little Big Planet fan, and that he was interested in doing a UDK shmup mod. Maybe I should give that a shot too!

This game is so good, it actually feels like a battlefield. There are only a few problems I have so far with it: when switching controls with R2 being granade throw, the shooting somehow gets switched to L1, and why is there no voice chat? I know DICE had problems with voice chat in every single BF they released on PS3, but this is getting rediculous. Other than that I love the map, the bullet drop on a sniper, no more christmas lights on the screen (enemies show up on the radar but they don't always have that triangle crap), and it takes less bullets to kill which is nice. It's sad though that they are reusing every single gun from BF:BC and only a few new ones, but oh well, at least you can mixing around the kits.

Wow, that doesn't sound good. Hopefully they get that fixed by March.

A whole bunch of people unfamiliar with the series appear to have been attracted to this beta. Managed to join a full server as the round was about to begin. The entire team just instantly began sprinting past all the vehicles the entire stretch down to the first base.

And I'll just toss this US code out there.

What? There's voice chat and it works perfectly fine.
There are no indicators nor is there anything in the audio menu. Maybe I'm just not lucky, but I haven't heard a single person talk.

Team chatter all last night when I was playing. Did you squad up?

Code please :-)

The beta is fantastic. I've been a big fan of the series since BF2, and this game does not disappoint. I love that they have brought back the paddles for medics, and the sound and overall feel of the guns and vehicles are great too.

I have noticed that there are definitely a lot of newcomers to the series. I haven't come across too many games yet where people were working together as a team, but I think that will come together over the next couple of days. I'm a day one buyer for sure!

I think it's just bad luck :)

As a proof, consider this:
"As things go in a BETA, an update is being propped with a VoIP fix, once Sony has this completed all things should be go in the EU!"- Twitter

1.01 patch is a voice chat fix.

Couple questions.

Can someone post a link to the official beta forums?

How long do you have to defend a target before you can win the round?

Can you only change your load out when your in a round?

You really think someone would release an FPS in 2010 without voice chat?

This is great to hear, but...the ranks and unlocks in the first Bad Company have been not working for some time now. Are they ever going to fix that? I was around level 23 last time I played it and wanted to make it to level 25 before BC2 came out.

Can't you just ask them? Twitter is a quite useful tool ;)

Though I'm a huge fan of the original bad company (still play it fairly regularly on PSN) the sequel seems to be far far better.
Not only does it feel way more realistic and gritty but the return of the medic is something that was increadibly needed (especially for medic players like me).

Kinda getting bored of the one map already but at the same time I'm having masses amounts of fun.

Here's hoping they managed to get voice chat working properly on the PSN network (haven't tried it out yet)

I hope they get in-game invites working for this game! (or add it. awesome feature to have)

EDIT: when i meant by in-game invites i meant from in-game XMB.

It's pretty solid in my experience. I have had zero issues with voice chat, and I am glad it actually works. Voice chat was my number one concern for this game, and it looks like they have it down.

I didn't try in game invites, but I noticed my friend was playing last night and from the "Join Friends" option I was not only able to join my friends game, but it threw me directly into his squad when I finally loaded into the game he was playing, that is awesome.

Anybody want to start a squad? I just had 40 kills and 15 deaths blew up the only 3 crates our team was able to take....and we lost...had a bunch of worthless snipers on the hills doing absolutely nothing. Pretty frustrating.
