Bad Company 2 PS3 Multiplayer Beta; PC beta early 2010

Me and my buds use spotting to herd the other mouth breathers on our team towards the enemy. Sometimes it feels like you are playing Overlord or something. You hit select and all these little gremlins go scrambling for a red triangle on hill. :lol
 
Some people are using anti-tank mines to blow up the objectives instantly without planting or anything else. Fix that cheap shit plz.

Had a bunch of games today, a lot of them my team was terrible and refused to do anything. Felt like it was a whole team versus my squad. Still, has a couple of wins and more importantly the game was still tons of fun even when we were getting beat. I'm gonna stick playing assault to try out the Red Dot Sight I'll unlock in a game or two, then I'm gonna try the other classes.

Think I'm definitely gonna buy this in March.

Red Dot kind of sucks... the green tint has really low opacity for some reason and makes it harder to see shit. Hope they fix that.

It's been like that since Bad Company 1. Stack five mines and aim a rocket and that's a chunk of the crates health gone. Personally, I don't have a problem with it. It just means Assault classes have to get off their asses and start killing people and be weary of enemy positions.
 
I'll be on in a about two hours if anyone wants to play. I'm going for the tracer dart pistol, AKS 47-U, and maybe even the second rocket launcher tonight. I also want to get the mortars for recon.
 
Man some of these rounds are too long, I wanted to play for a half hour and I ended up defending for over 45 minutes before the game ended! :lol Are there going to be multi modes in the retail version that don't take so long?

I unlocked like 3 new guns during that time, had plenty of epic anti tank moments, its so much fun. At what point do you unlock the 2nd RPG?

Does the little white arrow pointing downwards mean it's saving or something? Also, even if you leave a game you still get the points right?

Dang. Well, in this case I only saw him place 2 anti-tank mines through the "killer cam" but I guess he could have planted more before I got there. The ridiculous thing was this was right when the new objectives became "active." No idea what my team was doing. I think you should have to plant to destroy it. Defending the objective that has been planted requires teamwork and is part of the game. Rushing in a dropping a bunch of mines to blow it up instantly is just lame. I hope they fix it this time.

And fuck broken party systems that kick you constantly and take 10 tries before they work.
 
I wish there was a mode where it wouldn't separate the party (Or just find another game) we played a 4 player squad yesterday but it keeps putting us into a game where they had to pull one of our players to the enemy side (the same player too!)

nah, they nerfed anti-tank mines in BC1 last summer. they have done 0 damage since then.
then they nerfed the jihad jeep on crates in the fall of 2008, so any C4 planted a jeep does 0 damage to crates. yet, for some reason the artillery glitch is still not fixed!

i never even thought to try the ATM's on crates. i also read that C4 doesn't disappear when you die, even though that was patched out of BC1. i did read some good news though, dropped mines stay until you leave the server, they don't disappear 30 seconds after you die anymore.
 
Does this happen to anyone else, sometimes when I plant C4 on a moving vehicle it doesn't actually stay on the vehicle but still remains in the air where it was placed. So if the tank is stationary the C4 is on it, but when it moves away the C4 is just left suspended in air.
 
oh, and you can drop 6 mines before they start disappearing!

yeah, i've seen that happen a couple of times. epic failed too.
 
What's the artillery glitch? The one that happens to me a lot is when you use it, wait for cooldown then try to use it again...it goes back into c/d as if you activated it.
 
This game is awesome. All it needs is native youtube recording to show off those awesome moments.

I played a game earlier, was a medic, and was running across the street when a jeep shows up and almost runs me over. So I turn after him to see if he pops out to kill me and he keeps driving. So I say "whew," turn around again and a tank is barreling down on me and I say "crap, its over" so I start unloading my machine gun into him. But he blows up in front of my eyes. So I am like "What!!". As I sit there staring at the wreckage, the whole room rumbles with tanks and two of my own tanks roll by on either side and I hear someone going "Hoo Hah!! In your faces!!"

Amazing moments.

use it, and as soon as the camera changes, hop out. you can hop in again, the cooldown didn't go into effect.

nah, I don't think it was weird. It was just notifying all the points I was getting for those kills: vehicle damage, vehicle destruction, enemy kill, enemy kill (the 2 guys in the vehicle), avenger kill (I guess one of them killed me before), double kill, defensive kill etc. :D

Hey do you have the ACOG for Recon yet? I saw a vid of that the other day but I can't for the life of me find it again.
 
Bah, I was playing with some buddies and we were defending the first area. It was down to one ticket left for the other team and then the server decided to take a shit :/ Stuff like that completely kills my mood to play, and it sucks because I was doing really well too.

Oh, so anti-tank mines blow up objectives faster than C4? This whole time I've been trying to C4 that shit D:

Until Assault gets the smoke rounds, you can secretly plant C4, throw ammo down, reload C4 again, and boom, instant destruction. 3 C4s only take out 3/4 of the objective D:

He's talking about the artillery barrage in BFBC1. Attackers have one set up at the first base on a few maps.
 
Just finished a 5 hour session of this game...

I leveled up ALOT...

I USED to thing Assault sucked.. but MAN ... i was totally cleaning up the field.. finished like 30/14 ish most games....

Then i had some Awesome games as Recon... Running in and planting C4 is a crazy rush... Although i'm no wear near TTP levels of good.

And the Engineer ... wow.. I played him for the last 1.5 hrs or so.. and leveled up till i got the silenced SMG ... what an awsome gun... oh and also got the land mines..

top score for the night for me was ... 15k points.. it was like 10k in medals alone :D

throw down the ammo pack first and you can drop 4-5 on the crate before pulling the trigger, since they replenish a little slower than you throw them!
 
These pin awards are sort of broken. I got 11.000 worth of them in one game yesterday. I dont think i got 11.000 added to my total score though, just in the presentation. Whenever i rack up a decent killstreak in short order these pins start pouring in. Sometimes you get the 'team deathmatch winner' award even though you are playing rush and also is getting your ass handed to you. When i was awarded 11k i think i had two ace player pins and two team deathmatch awards. I was noway near the ace player :P

On the other hand i've never gotten the 7 killstreak pin even though i think i should have. Might be mistaken here though. I've gotten the 5 killstreak one a few times. But i die a lot...

This only works for few buildings tho no? Train and bus for example can't be destroyed. I've never seen the last one building collapsing so that's indestructible as well I guess.

^^Yeah, gotta love the engineer class. That's been my most used so far. Can't wait to try out my new tracer darts combined with the RPG on a tank. What are the best ways to use the Tracer Pistol?

So what other game modes will there be? The attack and defend is great, but I'd like to change it up some. This beta is my new crack, even with all of the other games out now. Too bad the game doesn't come out for 3+ months.

Recon is seriously the best anti-tank class in the game. I took out five in one match with just the mortar.
 
I like the way you need to scope out to reload your sniper rifle. It makes sniping even more exciting and thrilling when you hit your target but you have to unscope for a moment and then scope again to aquire your target again before sending it to heaven with the satisfying little blood splash :lol
 
This is awesome. There's no doubt in my mind that this game has the best sniping mechanics. None of this twichy arcade counter strike awp crap. I love how you have to guess where the bullet will drop.

There are a couple of things they need to fix though.
When you're using the UAV, piece of shit griefing teammates can team kill you by blowing up the uav console with c4 or mortar strike.

The Assault's smoke grenade needs to be more opaque and bigger. So far it doesn't seem to be useful because it dissipates so quickly and it still easy to see through.

They should also add some kind of penalty for putting c4 on your own crate when you're team is supposed to defend. Some asshole basically handed the match to the enemy team.

It does make it feel like you're actually controlling the sniper rifle.

This depends on what Rifle you use though... The one I'm using now is ALOT weaker.. but it's pretty much a semi auto rifle... .. Kinda like the SR-25 from Socom (brings back memories)

The first rifle (OC28 something?) you unlock is awesome 1 on 1 btw (as sniper rifles go, that is) - can't tell you how many people moving in on me for an easy kill that i've just blown away by spamming the trigger in their general direction. :P
