Bullshit, I think staying 1/2 a map away with a tank and bringing down the building on the objective should have consequences for both sides.

You can use the trace gun; the "darts" fly straight so it's very easy to hit a tank from far away.

After you locked the tank, you can shoot a rocket to the sky -if you want- and hit it.

How does the target identifier work?
My rockets dont seem to follow it

You get points for arming crates right? I don't remember seeing any points pop up when you arm it or after it blows up.

Ugh and getting stuck on those metal bars in the train cars sucks. I've been killed a few times because of it. From what I read on the forum they fixed it though, thankfully..

edit: actually I get stuck on a lot of the environment...hopefully they smooth that out..
yeah, and their fix was awesome!

you get 30 for arming, but nothing for damaging it or it blowing up.

Not all objectives can be destroyed by bringing the building down.
indeed.

only 3 of the 10 in the beta can be destroyed like that.

oooh that's awesome. Havn't tried them yet. I unlocked the RDS for the Assault class and I thought it was fairly useless. You get more auto-aim without it, or so it seems. Maybe I'm just used to the iron sights but I can kill easier without the RDS.

Think 'll try Medic next, tho this week is gonna be KZ2 week for me so it'll have to wait a few days. :)

when you zoom, you should see a lock on marker that looks like [ ] .. shoot. even if you aim above or to the side, the rocket should curve towards the target.

And that's why I wasn't sure if the rockets were effective. What a stupid change.
yeah it is, going by the rates they increased the other point values, it should be 30-50 points every 20% damage and 150 for it blowing up.

2 of them are the 2 buildings in the second section right? And the other one is the bigger building in the first section right?

Sweet I finally saw it thanks.

Just saw some scans of a German magazine, looks like Battlefield: Crysis (actually jungle, not an island) environments :p It has the destructible shacks and everything.

I'm almost certain I saw someone repair a crate. It's noticeably harder to kill crates via damage in this one. Engineers have less rockets I think, C4 is on the Recon class, no obvious points for damaging crates, no ammo resupplies in the enemy base. Yes teamates can resupply you, but it's like pulling teeth to get em to drop a crate.

Oh, on that note, while I appreciate the realistic physics in an ammo crate falling down a slope I place it on, I would like to be able to set it under a sniper and have it stay there.

I just had an epic tank on tank battle. First i was on foot trying to take him out with the pea shooter, I mean rpg, but his gunner killed me. I spawned at the base and got in a tank and he was still there. So i drove towards him, but instead of stopping and doing the usual shot-trading, I stormed full speed right at him and bashed right into him. Got him with a shell while I was half on top of him, ran him over and he blew up. Man, that was satisfying. Especially getting revenge like that.

Yep that's what makes it so brilliant and I think that's why the community always gravitates toward a handful of maps (usually like 3). BF Modern Combat there was like 2 maps that people played. One map was in the desert and the other one had this huge bridge in the middle .. the names of the maps escape me. It was fun but got irritating after a while. Had a hell of a time playing that game on 360 at the time.

I played the 3 MC 'perennial' maps so much that their layouts are burned into my psyche.

1. Backstab

2. Bridge Too Far

3. Deadly Pass

Actually what I loved about the MC community, was the maybe 2 or 3 'All Maps' servers that auto rotated instead of voted. The same general group of players stuck to those servers, and many friends and rivals were made there.

BC had a great community too if you were involved enough in it. Me and my buds constantly spotted 'big shot' (i.e. Top 1000 on Leaderboards) players, and it really gave the game a lasting life and continuity. At one point we actually had a competition to see who could net the most 'top 1,000' dogtags. :lol Because of the smaller player base than say a Halo or CoD, it was much easier to get matched up with players multiple times and really develop some great rivalries. I hope BC2 doesn't lose that.

2. Bridge Too Far

By far the greatest map developed for Battlfield. I remember the epic tank battles, the building to building sniper battles, and the carbomb jeep runs into the other teams spawn.

They need to make a remake of the map immediately.

.

What's amazing about that map is that I discovered new ways to access or circumvent different areas after an entire year of playing that game. If they're putting in maps designed for conquest mode in BC2, they have no excuse not to remake BTF.

Assault gets C4 with Shotguns. and also as a glitch if you pick an assault rifle attachment tha you haven't unlocked.

if you throw the ammo pack before you throw a C4 on the crate, you'll recover 1 mid-way and another right after you throw the 4th. and it only takes 5 to blow up the crate!

No headset = no teamwork is so bullshit to me. I had tons of squads that didn't have mics and we all worked as a team.

No teamwork def sucks, I need to cull my friends list and make room for some active gaffers

Anyone else experience a glitch where after you have been revived, you have a different class kit?

If someone grabs your medic kit and revives, you will "swap" kits.

I had a glitch where I respawned but was permanently stuck on choosing a class/position. I could see my screen, but with the class/position info infront and I couldn't move. I had to suicide to get back in the game.

I am enjoying the game thus far, collision detection needs some work but so far so good.

I will be playing tomorrow daytime.

PSN is: ibu666

!!!!!

I guess that makes sense, they obviously can't have an grenade launcher with the shotgun. Wow how'd I miss that, I gotta try some of that stuff. How about with the Thompson? Ah I'll just test it myself.

Sign of a truely great game.

It's not a glitch, who ever killed you took your class kit, so u get theirs. Works like that in BF2 as well.

Do you still need to empty half a clip in the chest to kill someone in this game?
Not anymore. Actually you just need a few bullets to kill someone, even from long range.

I'm dying to play it again.. Too bad I still have to study for my Ordinary Differential Equations class :(

Nice!!!!!

Could someone tell me why I can't use the shock paddles at times? I mean, I am frantically pressing R1, and it won't let me revive someone.

There's a (brief) recharge period, so if you've just revived somebody you can't instantly revive another person.

The paddles have a refresh time of maybe 5-6 seconds.

At A4, the crate at the crashed train, you can arm/disarm through the wall. Pretty helpful if the sides aren't blown open :lol

is there any way to tell when the mortar strike thingy for recons has cooled down for re-use again?

Push left again, you can see the remote icon slowly fill up; granted, it's sort of glitched because it'll fill up, you try to use it, then it starts all over again.

Thompson has C4 too.

i have some questions for you lot

1. is the shotgun only selectable as primary weapon?
2. is the smoke grenade and autotargeter really that shit?
3. is the thomson any good as an SMG and again, does it replace your primary or secondary weapon

the thompson and all of the shotguns are primary weapons for every class. the thompson is a pretty decent weapon. assaults also have an unlockable shotgun addon for their assault rifles that replaces the frag/smoke grenade, dunno how good it is.

haven't unlocked/tried the auto-targeter, but the smoke grenade is hot garbage so far.

I could be wrong, but to the best of my knowledge:

1. Yes, although there's an underbarrel shotgun attachment for the assault rifles;
2. Yes to the first, and I haven't used the autotargeter; and
3. Yes, it is awesome at close range (I really enjoyed it in 43 as well), and it is a primary weapon available to all classes.
