The stats were wiped once before and they came back, so all hope isn't lost. The leaderboard is still there.

edit: and I just noticed all my dog tags are still there. All 33 of them including someone named Pinga-Bad-Brasil who I got 3 times in one game :D

I guess it must be when the pilot is still inside.
yea, due to the fact you are helping out your friend....why would you repair an unmanned vehicle and expect to get points? Dont make sense.

The same reason you still get points for destroying a vehicle with no driver. A few seconds after they have bailed out. I just thought it would've been like that.

I know DICE confirmed the PC version of BFBC2 will have dedicated servers, but did they ever clarify if the console versions would?
First one did and so does the Beta, so I don't see why not.

Holy shit you can stick those darts to soldiers as well?!

Absolutely, you get a 30 point tracer assist if someone else kills them after you've darted them. I love that thing, very useful for lighting up snipers.

Just played MW2.

And I guess this is a complaint against the COD series in general. Whether its just the engine or the sounds or what, but it never feels like anything has any impact or weight to it. The guns sound like weak pellet guns, everything (the environment, the enemies) feel artificial, like a target range.

How does BC2 "feel"? Does it have "weight" to the shooting and environment, and mechanics?

I'd put this right in between KZ2 and MW2 as far as weightiness. In other words, the shooting is great. It's a huge improvement for this series...I wasn't impressed by the shooting in prior versions of BF. The way I see it is that COD is too floaty/arcadey, KZ2 had all kinds of issues with it's controls...this one is just right for me.

As far as the sound effects, that isn't even close. If you have a nice setup put it on "War Tapes". It sounds great.

It all has a nice sense of weight and impact. The coalescing of brilliant sound and big chunky action (especially with the destruction) works incredibly well. Let's just say when you're defending against a voracious attacker, you know about it!

That's what I felt when I first bought COD4. It's like shooting an airsoft gun.

I had tons of the "oh shit! oh shit!" moments when defusing crates and go after crates.

It's just disappointing. You have these beautiful, detailed gun models, and aside from the models, they all feel the same. And you have some gorgeous level/art design, and the environments just "feel" dead. So much potential, but the mechanics just haven't caught up to the visuals.

Anyone know if it is possible to put any kind of scope on the M1A1? Also wondering why anyone would use the SV98 over the standard M24 bolt action.

Did anyone else get an email from EA with a beta key? And is it tied to my EA account or anything? Cause I'm already in the beta and I was wondering if I could give it to a guy on my friend list.

Aside from added and new content, what changes are made to the controls over the first game- if any? Or does it move and control exactly the same?

Not sure which one you are referring to by first game, but I posted about the controls above. The buttons are different in some ways than the other console BF games, 1943 and Modern Combat. Nothing different from the other shooters out there.

Sorry, I mean are there any control diffeences between BC1 and BC2? Has anything been sped up or slowed down? Did they change the button layout Stuff like that.

The default knife button is R2 now, that is really the only difference.

I wouldn't say it's particularly good. Not bad either. There's a bit of a disconnect with the recoil on the guns. I've also heard better sound design on gunshots. Sound design in other areas is good though.

I've never really been picky about that sorta thing, but it seems fine to me.

I had a great moment yesterday that got me 550pts, a tank had positioned itself near the train car and was raining death on my teammates, so I spawned as recon and had some C4. I ran up to the back of the tank, planted it and just as I moved a Humvee slammed into the back of the tank, Im guessing he was trying to run me over but missed. I detonated the C4 which took out the tank, and the hummer went along for the ride with it, Im not quite sure how many people I killed but it was probably the second best BC2 moment I've had (first is when I brought down a building on 6 people).

Only 550pts? Pff, I did better than that starting @ 5:10 here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5bEGx9nOcU

Does it last until they die? If not, how much longer does it last than hitting select on someone?

If you think thats bad play MAG the grenades sounds are awful

So, I really hate to ask (not really!), but does anyone have an extra beta code for PS3?

I stood next to a pallet in Walmart for 3 hours this morning to get my PS3 bundle. Walmart continues to make me fear for humanity. :lol Anyway, I really don't want to set foot in another B&M store for a while, especially Gamestop.

Finally unlocked the AUG. Crazy to think I'll unlock all this stuff all over again when the PC beta comes out, and then again after that when the game is released.

Has anybody tried killing somebody with the repair tool?
I destroyed a tank with one a few days ago.
I have a good game I recorded that it literately ended up being just the three of us vs this rank 23 I believe. I sat back and watch them as they go around and destroying the environment with those things, collapsing buildings on each other, AND found out that you are even able to kill people with it! I was thinking about editing the vid and throwing up on the youtubes, as well as the faults and whatnot that I found in the beta (in a seperate vid of course). I'll probably throw these vids on the DICE forums as well in order to help them improve the game.

Should I go for it?

You know, I love the new spotting mechanic. There are times where I just zoom in, pan over the battlefield, and spam the select button like there's no tomorrow. Makes it a whole lot easier to kill snipers and other enemies in hiding spots when I unwittingly got them marked with a huge glowing target around their bodies.

Does anyone know if it's ok to share this game? I have one friend that wants to try it but I don't have an extra code, but I know him so letting him on my account is no big deal.

And, I just played a horrible game, I went 42/11, but what made it so bad is that 7 people on my team were sniping (we were attacking), and of the 7 only 2 of them were good at it. So, it felt like it was me against an entire team because more than half the people I played with weren't even concerned with destroying the crates.

That's your answer.

I always spy you playing Ass creed 2, when are you on with BC?

And that is exactly why spotting, the crutch for bad players, is broken fucking mess.

Man, is it me or is the game way too easy on PS3? The XM8 is an unstoppable BEAST, until you run outta bullets that is
